Anti-piracy company Vobile Group announced an agreement to acquire the RightsID and ChannelID assets from ZEFR, the contextual targeting platform for brands. The acquisition allows Vobile to build on its customer base of film studios and television networks by deepening relationships with major social platforms like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. “As we focus on capitalizing on the potential of our contextual targeting platform, we believe we’ve found the perfect home for RightsID and ChannelID.  We are very proud of the success these businesses have built with the world’s leading content providers and believe combining these assets with Vobile creates an unmatched content protection and measurement company for the modern digital media market,” said Zach James, ZEFR’s Co-Founder and Co-CEO.  
 
FreeWheel announced that it is integrating with Centro to help agencies manage digital campaigns for programmatic, direct buying, search and social. The integration will pair Centro’s Basis with FreeWheel’s Strata, a platform used by more than 1,200 agencies for planning, activation, optimization and billing management.
 
U.S. consumers are expected to spend a combined $26 billion on music and video subscription services this year – up from $20.4 billion in 2018 and nearly twice the amount spent in 2017, according to estimates from the Consumer Technology Association. With the continued success of Apple Music and Spotify, domestic music streaming revenue alone is expected to reach $84 billion in 2019, which is a 33% growth over 2018. Meanwhile, revenue from paid video streaming services is expected to be up 25% year over year, to $17.7 for 2019. The Consumer Technology Association credits live TV services with some of the momentum for paid video streaming.

is decreasing the amount of text and the image size of ads in its mobile News Feed, starting August 19. Users will see three lines of text, versus seven, and can click to see more.
 
YouTube Music announced an update on iOS and Android that makes it easier for Premium subscribers to switch between listening to audio and watching a song’s video. Users can tap a button on the screen to use the feature.
 
TIME has launched TIME Immersive, an augmented reality and virtual reality app to showcase new AR and VR projects from TIME. First up: Landing on the Moon, allowing viewers to experience a scientifically and historically accurate cinematic recreation of the Apollo 11 landing.
 
The FTC is considering updating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, and is looking for input on how to deal with sites that aren’t targeting children but have a large number of young users. “In light of rapid technological changes that impact the online children’s marketplace, we must ensure COPPA remains effective,” said FTC Chairman Joe Simons. “We’re committed to strong COPPA enforcement, as well as industry outreach and a COPPA business hotline to foster a high level of COPPA compliance.”
 
Six-month-old startup InCountry has raised Series A funding of $15 million, for a total of $21 million to date. Amid evolving regulatory requirements for data, InCountry offers multinational companies the infrastructure to store and retrieve data in its country of origin.
 
Spotify launched a dedicated Disney music hub featuring seven playlist sections with hits from Disney animated titles plus music from Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars films. Spotify users in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and select other countries now can search “Disney” to find the hub. Spotify users have streamed nearly 2.5 billion minutes of Disney music on the service year to date in 2019 alone, according to Spotify.
