The 2017 BET Awards was the number one cable awards show among A18-49 for the 2017 broadcast season, claiming the top stop for the third consecutive year. The gala was also tops among African Americans 18-49 for the 16th consecutive year. The premiere telecast drew 5.8 million viewers P2+, as it was simulcast live across nine Viacom networks including MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, Logo, Spike and Centric. In total, the show reached 18.1 million Total Viewers P2+ and 8.5 million A18-49.
The finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9, was the most watched ever, garnering 859,000 Total Viewers. The show’s full season was up 122% from the last one among A18-49.
Bravo’s Southern Charm delivered a series high among P25-54 and Total Viewers, earning 1 million P18-49 (up +13% versus the prior week’s episode), 1.3 million P25-54 (up +17%) and 2.1 million Total Viewers (up +13%).
Spike TV’s Thursday, June 22 airing of The Mist delivered increases in A18-49 (+98%) and total viewers (+137%) in its timeslot, compared to the previous 4-week average. Overall, The Mist drew 1.3 million viewers with 0.6 A18-49.
Telemundo Deportes’ exclusive coverage of the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017 reached 9.6 million total viewers through the group stage, averaging 1 million total viewers and 519,000 A18-49.
Dr. Phil (2.6) extended his weekly winning streak among talk shows to 41, despite being in reruns all week long. Live with Kelly & Ryan (2.1) took second place for the third week in a row, opening a gap over third place Ellen DeGeneres (1.7).
Crime Watch Daily (0.9, steady) jumped 25% among W25-54 (0.5 demo rating), climbing 13% from last year in households despite being in repeats all five days.
