Cinedigm has finalized the acquisition of FoundationTV, a video streaming technology, artificial intelligence, machine-learning, and data analytics platform provider. Based in India, the Company co-developed the Matchpoint technology platform that currently powers Cinedigm’s portfolio of streaming channels and digital video distribution business. Cinedigm has integrated FoundationTV’s underlying technology portfolio with the Matchpoint digital distribution platform along with their respective software engineering team into a new Indian-based division, Cinedigm India. The new division will serve as the Company’s engineering, research and development hub focused on video streaming technology and emerging technologies such as cryptocurrencies and NFT.
During his keynote at the BANFF World Media Festival, Netflix co-CEO and Chief Content OfficerTed Sarandos introduced the streamer’s first-stop motion anthology, “The House.” Netflix has also acquired global rights to Canadian sci-fi sequel “Code 8: Part II” from Collective Pictures. And speaking of Canada, Sarandos said Netflix is going be more aggressive about telling Canadian stories. “We’re opening an office in Toronto and we’re actively in the process of hiring a manager for original Canadian series, which will in effect move the greenlight for Canadian content to Canada,” he said.
French animation production and distribution company Dandelooo and Belgian film production company Vivi Film are teaming to co-produce and co-finance animated series “The Upside Down River.” Dandelooo’s animation studio Ooolala will produce in co-operation with Canal+ Family.
