IN THE NEWS
Before she exits the CBS bench after 25 years and heads to a new gig at Amazon’s IMDb TV, Judge Judy Sheindlin said tensions with the network caused her to adjourn her business with CBS. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Sheindlin said the root of the issues stems from CBS buying out Sheindlin’s ownership of reruns of her top syndicated series “Judge Judy,” ostensibly to stop her from taking the show’s library elsewhere. Sheindlin also said she felt CBS disrespected her work on “Hot Bench,” another courtroom show, by bumping the series in select “major markets.” CBS Media Ventures president Steve LoCasci told the Journal, “It has been an honor representing her show, and just like there has never been another Oprah, there will never be another Judge Judy.”
Amid the controversy around cyber-bullying, Chrissy Teigen will not voice a character as scheduled in the upcoming second season of Netflix’s comedy series “Never Have I Ever.” “Chrissy Teigen has decided to step away from a guest voiceover role in one episode of the upcoming second season of Never Have I Ever,” a spokesperson for the show said. “The role is expected to be recast.”
