Hulu signed AT+T to sell its subscription service to customers through web and mobile apps. However, the deal does not include offering Hulu on AT+T’s pay-TV service. Hulu has other deals with Cablevision Systems and five other small cable operators to resell the SVOD service at $7.99 a month. AT+T’s other OTT initiatives include Otter Media and Chernin Group. The mobile and web service will be available to AT+T web and mobile consumers later this year.
Facebook will start instantly adding select articles from nine publishers, including NBC News, The New York Times and BuzzFeed, to users’ newsfeeds on mobile devices. Through Instant Articles, FB will save publishers an average of eight seconds, i.e. the time it takes for its 1.25 billion users to access content. Publishers will get 100 percent of the ad revenue within the articles. Other publishers on board include National Geographic, the Atlantic, the U.K.’s Guardian, BBC News, Der Spiegel and Bild.
Multi-channel network DanceOn announced a collaboration with digital music distribution and publishing service TuneCore. The partnership will expose more TuneCore Artists through YouTube’s network with DanceOn. The deal is based on the results of DanceOn’s original initiative to build TuneCore Artist Silentó and his song "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae).” Since the new dance content went live in April, "Watch Me” has hit 27 million+ organic video views and 500,000+ likes, comments and shares, with a total of 35 million+ impressions. Earlier this year, TuneCore launched TuneCore Live, a monthly concert series showcasing some of TuneCore’s up-and-coming talent.


Tumblr launched the Post It Forward campaign, which aims to encourage positive behavior online. To support the initiative, Vice President Joe Biden, Brittany Snow, Pete Wentz, Elizabeth Banks, Jordin Sparks, Wendy Williams, and First Lady of New York City Chirlane McCray kicked off the first series of video messages about young people’s emotional health. Individuals can tell their story via video or long-form text, offer advice, share encouraging art, or connect with others through PostItForward.Tumblr.com or #PostItForward. Users will also be encouraged to take a GIF selfie, which will appear on the blog and tag using a new version of Tumblr’s native desktop tool to show support. In addition, Tumblr tapped a few of its top creators – Laurene Boglio, Brian Butler, Thoka Maer, Jonathan Reyes, and Mr. Phil – to help the campaign with vivid art on the blog and limited-edition merchandise. Proceeds go to organizations such as Love is Louder and The M.A.D. Girls, which tackle issues like self-harm and youth empowerment.

With Refame’s roster of Vine, Snapchat and Instagram creators, brands will be able to create content packages ranging from Reviews to Skit Comedy to Haul Videos across the social platforms. The acquisition comes as FameBit crosses its 450 million-subscribers and 10,000 creators milestone with the company on track to reach 1 billion subscribers by the end of this year; it works with brands such as Adidas, L’Oreal, Hint, JustFab and Dollar Shave Club.
Animal Planet’s Monster Week is only days away from its May 17 kick-off, and the arachnids are already crawling out. For starters, viewers can check out the Brazilian Black Tarantula on Animal Planet L!VE’s Tarantula Cam, and fans are encouraged to share their own thoughts using the #TarantulaCam hashtag on Facebook and Twitter. More than 20 live animal cams are available on desktop and mobile devices, Apple TV, Xbox consoles, Roku, Amazon Fire and select Samsung Smart TVs.

new series You’re Doing It Wrong with The Sklar Brothers debuted yesterday. PBSD teamed up with production company Kids at Play and the Sklars to create the series, which breaks down “life-hacks” such as correctly peeling boiled eggs, applying sunscreen or changing the TV channel. With this addition, PBS Digital Studios network now includes more than 60 series.
Family Channel’s new series My Dog’s Crazy Animal Friends has caught fire on social media. In just five days after posting a tiger cub with an orangutan from the series on Discovery’s Facebook page, the clip reached nearly 155 million people, 53 million video views and nine million likes, comments and shares. “What can we say – everyone loves the story of an odd couple!” Tom Cosgrove, GM of Discovery Family Channel, said. New episodes of My Dog’s Crazy Animal Friends air each Thursday at 9p and 9:30p ET.
The 2015 iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina will celebrate the best in Latin music again this year on November 7, with a special broadcast on Telemundo. The event will also video stream live exclusively on Yahoo Live for fans nationwide and broadcast live on iHeartMedia Spanish-Pop, Tropical, regional Mexican and Spanish Adult Hit radio stations across the U.S. The iHeartRadio Summer Pool Party, the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Concert Tour, the iHeartRadio Country Festival and the iHeartRadio Music Awards generated more than 14 billion social media impressions, almost triple that of the Academy Awards.


Digital media management and distribution company Yangaroo expanded its ad delivery service to all broadcast and cable networks in Canada. U.S. based media agencies and Canadian agencies advertisers can now extend distribution of their advertising on Yangaroo’s cloud-based platform to the Canadian market.
Videology and online ad fraud tech platform White Ops teamed up to combat bots and other non-human activity in online video. Videology clients can now use White Ops solutions to identify bots, maximize ROI, and reach more actual human traffic across their video campaigns and devices. In 2014, White Ops and the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) released a study on bot traffic in online video and display advertising, which found on average, 23 percent of online video ad inventory is consumed by bot impressions.
The Trade Desk announced an API-enhanced partnership with digital media company Goodway Group. TTD will connect Goodway buyers to open RTB exchanges as well as direct publisher connections in the private marketplace to allow Goodway to build algorithms, data insights, and workflow efficiency.


Kit Kat wants to help its customers take a YouTube break and watch branded videos and playlists on the Google platform. To kick off the new campaign, Youtuber Marcus Butler appeared on the Kit Kat channel to chat and explain how #mybreak works. YouTube will regularly refresh a playlist of recent trending videos on the Kit Kat channel; other vids from YT celebs also talk about their ideal break.
