All in the Family: Damien, TV sequel to the 1976 horror movie, is moving from Lifetime, where it had a straight-to-series order, to sister net A&E. The move comes after EVP and GM of the nets Rob Sharenow added A&E to his purview in February. “A&E’s unwavering commitment to high quality original scripted drama programming, coupled with the sizable fan base for our hit series Bates Motel, which so perfectly aligns with Damien, make the network the ideal fit,” said the aptly named exec. The order for Damien, produced by Fox 21 Television Studios, was upped from six to ten episodes.

IN THE NEWS

Revenge has officially been canceled. That the ABC drama’s season four finale on May 10 will be its last doesn’t come as a complete surprise – series star Madeline Stowe was just killed off, and a recent network promo advised viewers to “be there for the final four episodes.”

Don’t rule out a television return for David Letterman, leaving CBS’s Late Show on May 20 after 22 years. Might he be back on the small screen soon? “It just depends on the number of bridges I’ve burned,” Letterman told the NY Times. “Jane Pauley is now on the CBS Sunday Morning Show. Perfect fit…So maybe one day, something of that level will happen to me.”

First Lady Michelle Obama makes her fifth and final appearance on Late Night tonight. Also saying goodbye: musical guests Hootie & the Blowfish, who made their network TV debut on the show in 1994.

A+E Networks and Vice Media are in discussions involving a joint venture cable channel, according to the NY Post. A+E, which has a 10 percent stake in Vice, would rebrand H2, currently available in over 71 million homes, to Vice by early 2016. No deal has been signed yet, andA+E execs had no comment.

Hulu struck a multi-year deal with AMC Networks for exclusive SVOD rights to new and upcoming primetime scripted drama and comedy series from AMC, IFC, BBC America, SundanceTV and WE tv, including The Walking Dead companion series, Fear the Walking Dead. Series will be available on Hulu prior to each subsequent season’s network premiere.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that: Hulu will also be the exclusive SVOD provider of all nine seasons of Seinfeld, per a deal with distributor Sony Pictures Television. The announcement was made at Hulu’s Upfront presentation in NYC yesterday.

Univision launched its third nationwide search for the next “DJ@PJ,” with the top three finalists flown to Miami to battle it out the week of the Premios Juventud awards show in July. T-Mobile returns as sponsor.

Reelz and Dish Network agreed to terms for a contract renewal that gives Dish customers continued access to the net’s live and VOD programming. Reelz is available in Dish’s America’s Top 120 programming package and above.
