ESPN filed a lawsuit against Verizon FiOS on Monday for alleged breach of contract, contending FiOS’ neCustom TV plan violates their carriage agreement. “ESPN is at the forefront of embracing innovative ways to deliver high-quality content and value to consumers on multiple platforms,” said the company, “but that must be done in compliance with our agreements. We simply ask that Verizon abide by the terms of our contracts.” ESPN is available in FiOS’ sports add-on tier, but not in the offering’s base package.
Twist his arm: Smashing Pumpkins founder Billy Corgan is joining TNA Wrestling as senior producer, creative and talent development. Said TNA EVP of television and talent John Gaburick, “We knew Billy would bring a great viewpoint when we offered, and he graciously accepted, to attend a recent creative summit. During those meetings, Billy’s pioneering perspectives and collaborative approach made it quickly evident we needed to bring him on as a permanent member of our team.” Corgan will develop characters and create storylines for shows including Impact Wrestling, airing Fridays at 9p on Destination America.
The winner of TLC’s Summer Block Party contest is the Pennypack neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia. 19 Kids & Counting’s Duggar family, Cake Boss Buddy Valastro, Kate Gosselin and Say Yes to the Dress’ Randy Fenoli are among the talent slated to be on hand at the free event Saturday, May 30 at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing.
The Rush Limbaugh Show and Mahindra USA are again teaming for a Salute to Veterans promotion, with the giveaway of a tractor to an active duty service member or veteran of the U.S. military. Last year’s contest received over 4500 entries; sweeps ends May 24.
