ABC’s 10p James Comey interview on Sunday delivered 9.8 million viewers and a 1.7/6 among A18-49, ABC’s top news program telecast in 3 years in total viewers and in nearly 2 ½ years (since Caitlyn Jenner) in the demo. Comey lead-in was American Idol, hitting a series low 1.3 rating and 6.3 million viewers opposite CBS’s Academy of Country Music Awards, but up 152% in viewers and 86% among A18-49 versus the same time last year.
EstrellaTV is up 12% in the Prime daypart during 1Q18 among A18-49 as compared to same period last year and +26% versus same period in 2016, according to Nielsen.

Digital media company LiveXLive appointed Michael Zemetra as Chief Financial Officer. Zemetra most recently served as the divisional chief financial officer for the business cloud division of j2 Global. “I’m excited to take on this new role at LiveXLive during an incredible time of growth in digital media,” Zemetra tells Cynopsis, “and look forward to helping our company scale as we continue to achieve significant benchmarks.” Said CEO Robert Ellin, “We are confident that Michael will be an important leader to help guide LiveXLive as we continue to grow our business verticals across music, entertainment and digital medias.”
Vishnu Athreya was upped to Senior Vice President, Programming at Cartoon Network. Athreya adds series development for Boomerang to his purview.
Management and production company The Cartel appointed former President of Brownstone Entertainment and Fascination Street Drew Brown as Head of Television. Brown will be based in the company’s LA office.
Harry Anderson , known for playing Judge Harry T. Stone on Night Court and later Dave Barry on Dave’s World, was found dead yesterday morning at his home in Asheville NC. His big break came as Harry “The Hat” Gittes on Cheers, in later years he returned to his first love, magic. Harry Anderson was 65.
