.Who says you can’t go home? Not Bon Jovi frontman Jon Bon Jovi, who’s teaming with TWC-Dimension to exec produce If I Wasn’t a Rock Star. Reality series has stars returning to their hometowns to see what their lives would have been like if they hadn’t followed their music dreams. “I was drawn to this project simply because it will be a celebration of the working men and women of the country. They are the real rock stars,” said Bon Jovi.
Retiring Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer announced on Sunday’s program that he will be replaced by John Dickerson, CBS News political director. Dickerson has been on the show 83 times, said Schieffer, and “sure has the right bloodlines.” Schieffer, 78 and a 46-year CBS vet, leaves this summer.
The season five premiere of Game of Thrones aired Sunday, but hundreds of thousands of fans got an early peek when four episodes were leaked to piracy sites Saturday night. By Sunday morning, the eps had been downloaded almost 800,000 times, according to piracy tracker Excipio. They appear to be review copies. “Sadly, it seems the leaked copies of the upcoming season Game of Thrones originated from the group approved by HBO to receive them,” said the net. “We’re actively assessing how this breach occurred.”
Participant Media CEO Jim Berk resigned on Friday, saying, “After more than eight years at Participant it is the right time for someone else to take the helm.” Founder and chairman Jeff Skoll, who is stepping into the CEO role during the hunt for a replacement, credited Berk with helping the company “span film, television and digital, serving a global audience of socially conscious consumers.”
Significant Mother, planted at digital studio CW Seed, is headed to series at the CW. Comedy from Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios stars Josh Zuckerman (90210) as a man whose best friend is dating his mother, played by Krista Allen (What About Brian).
Viewers get an extra dose of CBS’s CSI: Cyber next week. The spinoff airs in the Tuesday-at-10p time slot on April 21, replacing Person of Interest; another Cyber original airs in its regular 10p period the next night.
The week after the season seven opener of River Monsters ranked as the most-watched Animal Planet premiere ever, with 1.9 million P2+ viewers in Live+3, the show was renewed for season eight. Series airs Sundays at 9p.

ABC Family greenlit pilots for comedy Gorgeous Morons and supernatural drama Beyond. “Quality comedies and epic adventures are key elements of our programming strategy,” said Karey Burke, EVP, programming and development.
Fox is working on a remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show for television. Two-hour event is to be directed, exec produced and choreographed by High School Musical’s Kenny Ortega, with big screen Rocky Horror’s producer, Lou Adler, onboard, as well as Gail Berman from The Jackal Group.
Electus International picked up format rights for Lighthearted Entertainment’s Labor Games. TLC will air a sneak preview of the quiz show set in delivery rooms Saturday, May 9.

Five years down the road, OTT advertising will grow to $40 billion and could make up half of all TV advertising, according to a new report from Diffusion Group, with ad load increasing from 3.2 minutes per half hour to 5.1 minutes. The good news for linear: the drop in ad load will be made up for by an increase in sales of native advertising and sponsorships, predicts Diffusion.

The mid-season premiere of AMC’s Mad Men delivered 3.6 million viewers and 1.9 million A25-54 in Live+3 ratings, up 57 percent and 60 percent, respectively, versus Live+SD.
Live+3 delivery for the season two premiere of WGN’s Salem on Sunday, April 5 at 10p ranks as this season’s highest lift across all new and returning premieres on cable among A18-49, up 112 percent to 602,000. Total viewers rose 99 percent, to 1,014,000, ranking as this season’s second highest lift of any new or returning premiere on cable.
E!’s The Royals delivered 1.1 million viewers P18-49 its fourth outing, up 7 percent versus the average and a series high in the demo.
CBS’s The Odd Couple got an 11 percent bounce versus last week, to 2.1/7. Mom matched last week’s 2.0/6.
The season five premiere of Discovery Family’s My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic on Saturday, April 4 was the series’ top-rated debut ever among K2-11, K6-11 and G6-11, ranking the net second among all of broadcast or cable in its timeslot among G6-11 delivery.
TV One’s Easter specials yielded a combined reach of 3.5 million total viewers in Live+3, reports the net. On Saturday, To Hell and Back delivered .5 (282,000) HH and .44 (131,000) W25-54, while Sunday’s 30th Annual Stellar Awards drew .68 (388,000) HH and .63 (188,000) among W25-54.
Thursday A18-49 Analysis: CBS had the most A18-49 viewers Thursday with 2.0/7, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. CBS was tops at 8p with a 2.8/10 average for Big Bang Theory and Odd Couple, followed by 1.1/4 for Fox’s Bones, Univision’s Amores con Trampa and a repeat of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. A fresh Grey’s grabbed 9p with 2.1/7, versus a 1.9 average for CBS’s Mom and a Big Bang rerun. CBS returned to the top at 10p with 1.2/4 for Elementary, chased by NBC’s Dateline, with 1.1/4.
