1000Bulbs.com flipped the switch on a new deal to sponsor Talladega Superspeedway’s Fall NASCAR event on Oct. 14. The race will be known as the 1000Bulbs.com 500. “We can’t wait for the 1000Bulbs.com 500 to get here,” said Talladega Superspeedway Chairman Grant Lynch. “What a company 1000Bulbs.com is to partner with, one that strives for excellence with cutting-edge technology and so many incredible lighting products to take care of their customers’ needs. DHL locked in a deal to renew its ties with Formula One in addition to becoming the first official partner of F1’s new esports series. “As the first official partner of the F1 eSports Series, we are very pleased to accompany Formula One on its digital journey and to actively contribute to the expansion and emotionalisation of the product range for fans,” said Arjan Sissing, head of corporate brand marketing at Deutsche Post DHL Group.
The West Coast Conference named Gloria Nevarez as the conference’s fourth full-time Commissioner in its 66-year history. She replaces Lynn Holzman, who departed in January to serve as the NCAA Vice President for Women’s Basketball. Nevarez joins the WCC after spending the last eight years with the Pac-12 where she served as the senior associate commissioner and senior woman administrator overseeing all Pac-12 championships with the exception of football.
Major League Baseball promoted Uzma Rawn to Group Director & Vice President of Sponsorship Sales. Rawn will be replacing the position vacated by Jim McCloud last month and will now report directly to Bill Morningstar, MLB Senior Vice President of Sponsorship Sales and will lead the team responsible for securing new sponsorship agreements and renewing Official League Partnerships.
ESPN announced that Chara-Lynn Aguiar has joined the team as Vice President, Strategy. She will oversee ESPN’s integrated strategy efforts working across all business areas. Chara will also serve as a key point of contact with many Corporate Strategy colleagues across The Walt Disney Company.
