Samsung launched a new ad campaign last night. Called "It Can Do That," spots highlight the innovations of the Galaxy Pro line of tablets.

What’s the most important thing to bring to a pitch meeting? "Openess, honesty and creativity," Peter Knobloch, chief investment officer of Maxxcom, tells Cynopsis. "It’s imperative to bring your best thinking but also listen carefully to what the client is saying and react honestly and openly to their feedback. Engaging the potential client in a discussion is far more productive than any oneway presentation. Ultimately, compatibility may be the most important component of the client’s decision." For more tips on making the most of a sales call, you’ll find info on Cynopsis’s April 8 webinar here.

The soaring, stately Refectory Room at NYC’s High Line Hotel, once an Episcopal seminary (chandeliers, stained glass windows), was the site for Nat Geo and Nat Geo WILD‘s lively upfront presentations, where net luminaries like Jason Silva (Brain Games) and Dr. Jan Pol (Dr. Pol) nibbled on chicken and risotto alongside guests as the nets rolled out their slates of new series.

Nat Geo has come a long way, said net president Howard T. Owens, debuting six of its top ten series just last year, the most-watched ever. Owens promised a diverse slate of new shows that leverage the brand DNA, saying, "Our channel seeks to tap into the inner explorer that is inside all of us."

New series include hidden-camera show Crowd Control, You Can’t Lick Your Elbow ("Brain Games for the body"), Cabin Fever (a building show, like "Lincoln logs on steroids"), cooking/travel series Meat Heads, turn-back-time docu-series The Primitives and survival format Remote Survival.

Events and specials include multi-part American Genius, showing the underside of the rivalries between some of America’s most brilliant minds, and special The Great American Sleep Project, offering secrets to getting a good night’s rest. (John Hoffman, founder and CEO of The Public Good Projects, partnering on the show, offered Cynopsis a tip: "Keep the screen in another room." Turns out the blue light tricks your brain into thinking it’s daytime.) Four-hour mini-series Killing Jesus is expected to premiere globally in 171 countries in 2015, Driving America explores the nation’s love affair with cars and miniseries Eat: The Story of Food delves into cuisine through the ages, part of a multiplatform initiative. Mini-series The ’90s: The Last Great Decade? recalls "The decade that set the stage for the world we live in today."

The net also showed the love for returning series Brain Games, None of the Above, Alaska State Troopers, Building Wild, Drugs Inc., The Legend of Mick Dodge, Life Below Zero, Life Below Zero: The Thaw, Ultimate Survival Alaska and Wicked Tuna.

At Nat Geo WILD, EVP and General Manager Geoffrey Daniels attributed the net’s success to "always putting animals first." In addition to returning series The Incredible Dr. Pol ("old school cool") and Dr. Oakley, Yukon Vet (premiering April 12, but already renewed), Daniels announced new programming including Dr. K: Exotic Pet Vet (wt) and Pond Stars, about backyard pond builders. Also on tap: another Big Cat Week, and "Dogs Rule," a weekend dedicated to canines, starting with a global three-part special: Is Your Dog a Genius?

Judging from a photo released on Instagram, Rider Strong (Shawn), Betsey Randle (Amy) and William Russ (Alan) will reprise their Boy Meets World (1993-2000) roles on an ep of upcoming Disney Channel spinoff, Girl Meets World. More evidence: Danielle Fishel (Topanga) tweeted on Tuesday, "Happy to have these familiar faces on set with us this week!"

Victor Garber joins Starz crime drama Power in a recurring role. Rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson will exec produce.

Hugh Jackman will guest on an X-Men-themed ep of Spike TV reality competition Ink Master. The show, on Tuesday, March 25 at 10p, will include a sneak preview of Jackman’s film, X-Men: Days of Future Past, coming out May 23.

Duopoly and iThentic announced two new series launches at MIPTV,being delivered as both digital and traditional broadcast formats: thriller Guidestones and sci-fi comedy Space Riders. FremantleMedia landed worldwide rights to controversial social reality show Benefits Street. The U.K. version achieved a peak audience of 6.5 million viewers.
Fargo is traveling to Cannes, courtesy of MGM International Television Distribution. The series, inspired by the 1996 film, premieres on FX Tuesday, April 15 and has been acquired by Channel 4 in the UK. Also on MGM’s slate: the second season of Vikings (Thursdays at 10p on History), season three of MTV‘s Teen Wolf (Mondays at 10p) and Paternity Court with Lauren Lake, syndicated Stateside.

ABC special Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe couldn’t knock out NBC‘s The Voice or NCIS on Tuesday, but the special beat Fox‘s Glee in total viewers and in A18-49 (1.5/5, versus 1.1/3), and tied NCIS in Men 18-34 for second place in the hour with 1.2/5.

Sunday’s premiere of Dear Viola was UP‘s highest-rated premiere for the first quarter, and second-highest-rated UP original movie ever. Viola delivered 414,000 P2+, 54,000 W25-54 and ranked 35th in HH coverage ratings (0.54) versus all ad-supported cable networks. Not surprised that the movie resonated with viewers? Leslie Glenn Chesloff, UP’s EVP of programming. "It’s a modern-day film that captures all the charm of a classic romantic movie," Chesloff tells Cynopsis. "Kellie Martin is incredibly appealing in the lead role and her character is someone who is easy to root for."

Tuesday A18-49 Analysis: NBC won the most A18-49 viewers Tuesday with 2.5/7, according to Nielsen. NBC’s The Voice earned 3.6/11 at 8p, followed by 2.4/8 for CBS’s NCIS.
