Fox News Media war zone photographer Pierre Zakrzewski and Ukranian journalist Oleksandra Kuvshynova were killed in Ukraine on Monday when their vehicle came under fire. In a note to employees, Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott wrote of Zakrzewski, “He was profoundly committed to telling the story and his bravery, professionalism and work ethic were renowned.” As for 24-year-old Kuvshynova, said Scott, “She was incredibly talented and spent weeks working directly with our entire team there, operating around the clock to make sure the world knew what was happening in her country.” Zakrzewski and Kuvshynova were with Fox News correspondent Benjamin Hall when the crew was attacked; Hall was injured and hospitalized.
NewsNation announced plans to add 12 hours of live programming by early June, for a total of 61 hours each week. In March, the early evening newscast will expand by an hour, and in June, morning news programming will expand to four hours. “NewsNation is well down the path to becoming a 24-hour, seven-days-a-week cable news network, and this latest expansion is a clear demonstration of our commitment to making that a reality,” said Sean Compton, President of the networks division of Nexstar Media.
EU antitrust regulators have cleared the way for Amazon’s $6.5 billion acquisition of MGM, saying the deal “would not significantly reduce competition.” The next hurdle is US authorities – Amazon certified to the Federal Trade Commission that it had provided all information requested for the deal, triggering a deadline of mid-March for the commission to file a challenge.
