IN MEMORIAM
The Weather Channel co-founder John Coleman passed away January 20. He was 83. Coleman, the original Good Morning America meteorologist, served as president and CEO of TWC in the year that followed the company’s 1981 launch, eventually landing at KUSI-TV in San Diego, where he spent 20 years as weatherman before retiring in 2014.
Actress Connie Sawyer, known as Hollywood’s oldest working actress, has died. She was 105. Sawyer’s TV credits include The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Dynasty, Seinfeld and Ray Donovan, among others.
On This Day: Former Tonight Show host Johnny Carson died at age 79.
