Now, with the context, perspective and insight that 25 years of hindsight affords us – and the reputation for access and integrity that the National Geographic brand can provide – there is no better time to tell this story in the way it has always deserved to be told, from the point of view of those involved,” said Simon Chinn and Jonathan Chinn, executive producers and co-founders of Lightbox.

ADVERTISING AND BRANDS

TiVo Research announced plans to integrate its data into the Oracle Data Cloud, with an eye toward increasing the ability for advertisers to reach and measure particular television audiences on their digital devices, and help networks measure the impact of digital campaigns on viewership. “Advertisers are always looking for ways to expand their reach to their target audience regardless of screen,” Tara Maitra, TiVo’s SVP, GM Content & Media Sales, tells Cynopsis. “This new partnership with Oracle gives marketers more choices and flexibility on how to find their audiences on TV, mobile or online.”

Sweet news for touchdown dancers: Candy maker Nestle announced it will cover up to $50,000 in fines for “excessive celebration” by players in the final games of the season. The offer is part of the company’s “Bolder than Bold” Butterfinger campaign. Billy on the Street host Billy Eichner and former NFLer Terrell Owens announced the news.

A letter signed by 168 lawmakers pressed FCC chairman Tom Wheeler to compel donors of political ads to identify themselves. “In today’s political reality of non-stop campaigning, our system continues to fail the American people by allowing special interests and shadow groups to flood our airwaves with anonymous ads, with no disclosure whatsoever,” read the letter from House Democrats. An agency spokesperson said the letter being reviewed.

Nissan is steering clear of the Super Bowl. “It’s not the ongoing experience that we want to create,” said spokesperson Jeannie White. “Our new involvement with college sports is far-reaching rather than being a one-time event.
