Cullen, the group’s executive director. An advocacy campaign will urge FCC regulators in Washington, D.C. to make unlicensed spectrum available for high-speed Internet.

Spotify is being sued by Wixen Music Publisher, which is looking for (gulp) $1.6 billion from the streaming service for infringing on the copyrights of thousands of songs. “Spotify has repeatedly failed to obtain necessary statutory, or ‘mechanical,’ licenses to reproduce and/or distribute musical compositions on its service,” says the suit. “Consequently, while Spotify has become a multibillion dollar company, songwriters and their publishers, such as Vixen, have not been able to fairly and rightfully share in Spotify’s success.”
