ABC started off 2018 with the season 22 premiere of The Bachelor (1.5/5) and a repeat of The Good Doctor pilot (.7/3) down last year opposite college football, but winning the night in broadcast among A18-49 with an average 1.2/4 in the demo. Repeats of CBS’s Big Bang Theory and 3 Young Sheldon eps averaged 5.34 million, grabbing the biggest broadcast audience.
Part 1 of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest (11:30p-12:32a) rose to 25.6 million viewers and an 8.2 rating among A18-49, the ABC special’s biggest overall audience in at least 27 years, predating the start of Nielsen’s electronic database.
