In more Comcast news, the company reported 4Q19 earnings per share of 79 cents and total revenue of $28.4 billion, just ahead of analyst estimates. NBCU’s Cable Networks group accounted for $2.9 billion in revenue for the quarter, with advertising up 2% and content licensing and other revenue up 3%.

Every week they delivered great drama, intrigue and a lot of fun storytelling,” said Tina Perry, OWN president. “We look forward to continue working with Will Packer and his talented team of collaborators in the future.”

A DirecTV satellite is in danger of exploding after suffering “a major anamoly” and must be moved away from other big communication satellites, according to a Bloomberg report. DirecTV said in a filing with the FCC that there’s a “significant risk” that battery cells aboard Spaceway-1 could burst. FCC granted the company’s request to move the satellite – quickly – to an area known as an orbital graveyard. Boeing, which made the battery, said the malfunction occurred “in the course of beyond-contract-life operation after a collection of events that have a very low likelihood of occurring on other satellites.” No DirecTV customers were affected, said the company.
