Content Creators of Atlanta, Inc, a non-profit organization for Atlanta’s Independent Scriptwriters and Content Creators host its 2nd annual gala this Sunday at the Historic Hammond House in Atlanta’s West End, the event benefits aspiring writers with grants to enhance their career. This year’s gala will be hosted by legendary actor Clifton Powell.

HGTV picked up a second season of Boise Boys. The series delivered solid ratings in its freshman run, helping the network consistently rank as the #1 cable network among upscale women 25-54 in its Thursday 11p timeslot.
Jenny Bicks, former EP on HBO’s Sex and the City and EP/showrunner on Showtime’s The Big C, inked an overall deal with Lionsgate TV. As per the pact’s terms, Bicks will develop and produce original television series for the studio.
Fox 21 Television Studios secured the rights to video game Vampyr with plans to develop it into a series with McG’s Wonderland Sound & Vision and DJ2 Entertainment. Set in 1918 London, Vampyr centers on a morally righteous doctor who mysteriously turns into a vampire.
EPIX greenlit original docuseries Unprotected Sets, set to premiere Friday, October 5 at 11p. From executive producers Wanda Sykes and Page Hurwitz (Push It Productions), and Barry Poznick, President of MGM’s Unscripted Television and MGM Television, series takes an unfiltered look at stand up.
TNT ordered The Angel of Darkness, a limited series based on the sequel to author Caleb Carr’s The Alienist with The Alienist’s Daniel Bruhl, Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning set to return in an all-new storyline. The Alienist is 2018’s top new cable series in A18-49.

Toyota struck an extensive deal with CuriosityStream to stream over 1800 titles without commercial interruption on CuriosityStream’s website. Homecoming, the Amazon Studios series starring Julia Roberts, will make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, leading the event’s TV line-up. The summer has seen top TV networks’ social media metrics declining nearly 20% in July versus June, according to Shareablee. The researcher said that ESPN maintained the top overall rating with 124 million actions, as well as 7.1 million shares by users. FOX News was second with 50 million actions and 8 million shares, followed by CNN with 37 million actions and 7.1 million s hares. SpotX released Global TV and Video: Five Trends Contributing to the Continued Rise of Digital, a new whitepaper exploring which factors have affected changes in TV viewership and growth in digital TV on a global scale. The report concludes that traditional methods of TV viewing remain popular due to television’s ability to facilitate a communal experience. Faster internet speeds combined with more connected TV devices, the growth of SVOD platforms like Netflix and Hulu, and vMVPDS like Sling TV and fuboTV are helping create a new post-cable era, says the report.

Bell Media struck a long-term programming deal to become the exclusive Canadian broadcaster for new programming from Vice Media’s Viceland. Not Surprisingly, the Tiger Woods-fueled PGA Championship topped the list of Out-of-Home viewers on Tunity Analytics’ weekly OOH ranking for the week of August 6, with 4.405 million. 60 Minutes, which followed the tournament, was next with 1.68 million. NFL Network’s Browns vs. Giants (1.606 million) and Cowboys v. 49ers games came in third and fourth, with Saturday’s PGA event number five (904,000).
WE tv’s Mama June: From Not to Hot delivered nearly 1.4 million Total Viewers within three days, up 10% compared to the prior week. Nine episodes into the current season, the show’s Friday, August 10 episode was also the highest rated of the season among the key demos of W18-49 and A25-54.
Behind the strength of Cold Justice and The Disappearance of Crystal Rogers, Oxygen earned its best Saturday Total Day performance among Total Viewers since June 2014. Cold Justice averaged 249,000 P18-49, 243,000 F25-54, and 815,000 Total Viewers, growing 23%, 9% and 9%, respectively from the pervious week.
