The party continues at HGTV as the network ordered 13 additional episodes of Dina’s Party, featuring events planner and interior designer Dina Manzo who previously starred in Bravo’s Real Housewives of New Jersey.  Dina’s Party airs on Saturdays at 10p and new episodes are presently airing with the new collection of episodes bowing next spring.

Journalists Sam Donaldson, Cokie Roberts, Consuelo Mack and John Palmer are set to host RLTV’s new series Primary Issues.  RLTV will debut the first of four episodes next Monday at 9p and the eps will air each night at 9p through November 3.  Primary Issues delves into the important issues facing the 2012 presidential candidates and the 50+ voters. ~ PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT ~

Exploring the life of Renaissance genius Leonardo Da Vinci, Starz Entertainment is working on a new original adventure series titled Da Vinci’s Demons developed and produced by BBC Worldwide Productions.  This the first project to go into production as part of the multi-year deal between Starz and BBC Worldwide Productions forged earlier this summer. The eight-episode series will commence production in early 2012, written by David S. Goyer, co-writer on the films Batman Begins and The Dark Knight and the upcoming Man of Steel.  Starz will likely debut the worldwide premiere of Da Vinci’s Demons in 2013 with BBC Worldwide distributing the series internationally.  David S. Goyer will also serve as showrunner; Julie Gardner is the executive producer along with BBC Worldwide Productions’ Head Jane Tranter.

Oxygen adds two docu-series to its production slate with planned 2012 roll-outs:

  • Eva Marcille Project (wt) is a docu-soap centered on four beautiful and successful best friends who help each in matters of love, celebrity life and working in the entertainment industry.  At the center of the foursome is Eva Marcille, model/actor/producer and host of Oxygen’s Hair Battle Spectacular.  Ish Entertainment is producing.
  • LA Style (wt) takes viewers behind the runways and the red carpet with a look at four rising fashion stylists working in Hollywood.  Original Media is producing.

FOX ordered a script for a multi-camera half-hour comedy called All-Americans about a patriotic and conservative Army Ranger who arrives home after serving ten years in the Middle East and finds his brother has become a liberal street artist cites THR.  All-Americans is from Werner Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and also from Will Sasso ($#*! My Dad Says, Family Guy and more) and Chad Kultgen (Burt Wonderstone, Southern Discomfort).  Tom Werner and Mike Clements will also serve as EPs.

After being shelved due to budgets, Stephen King’s The Dark Tower project was apparently picked up by HBO, according to Brian Grazer.  The project, based on the book by King described as a fantasy Western, will be adapted into a television series and the originally planned trilogy of films are to be determined.  Ron Howard had previously agreed to direct the first film and the first episode of the TV series which would air between the movies.  Grazer also said he hopes star Javier Bardem, who was on board to play lead Roland Dechain will continue with the project.

Canada’s History Television series Red Hot History has started production from Toronto-based Proper Television.  The series documents iconic historical figures with a modern-day tabloid-style coverage consists of 13 half-hour episodes.  History Television will debut the series in 2012.

Scottish actor Angus Macfadyen, known for his co-starring role in the film Braveheart, landed a major villain role on NBC’s Chuck for its final season premiering this Friday.  Macfadyen will appear in the last four episodes of the fifth and final season playing Nicholas Quinn, a former CIA agent who now operates a mercenary spy ring.

Michelle Hurd, who previously appeared on A&E’s The Glades landed a recurring role on The CW’s 90210 as a fashionable event planner, reports EW.  Hurd will first appear on 90210 in December.

On another CW show, Grey Damon (Friday Night Lights) is joining frosh drama series The Secret Circle, per TVLine.  Damon will play the potentially recurring role of Lee Labeque, a handsome and mysterious 20-something grifter-type who has an abundance of confidence.  He will first appear in episode 10.
