Fox Networks and Cablevision Systems have less than a week before their retransmission-consent agreement expires. Fox Networks gave a proposal to Cablevision this month and is waiting for a reply from the MSO. The current retransmission-consent agreement is set to expire this Friday and involves Fox stations WNYW-WWOR/New York and WTXF/Philadelphia and cable networks Fox Deportes, Nat Geo WILD and Fox Business Channel. In a memo sent to the FCC detailing the status between Fox Networks and Cablevision, Fox says it met with Cablevision in New York on October 5 and presented their latest retransmission-consent proposal then. During the meeting, Fox told Cablevision that their proposal was similar to other deals the networks have concluded in the recent year with distributors. Also according to the memo, Cablevision asked for a stand-alone rate for the broadcast stations which Fox provided on October 6, in addition to answering other questions. Furthermore, the memo said Fox began its negotiations with Cablevision last May with an initial proposal given on May 7 followed up with a response by Cablevision on July 7; then a revised proposal came from Fox on August 24 followed by a response by Cablevision on September 21. As of now, Fox says it has not received a response from Cablevision regarding their most recent October proposals.
