Aiming at its young, female “Generation O” audience, Oxygen adds three docu-series to its development slate:

  • All the Right Moves (wt) focuses on choreographer Travis Wall (So You Think You Can Dance, Step Up 4) and his longtime friends and roommates, Teddy Forance, Nick Lazzarini and Kyle Robinson.  Together the quartet is launching the dance company, Shaping Sound.  World of Wonder Productions is producing.
  • That’s D’Amore (wt) highlights sisters Caroline, Bonnie and Christie – The D’Amores.  The three sisters and their family run a chain of popular pizza restaurants in Southern California which has given them a luxurious Malibu lifestyle.  Produced by RelativityREAL and Ellen Rakieten Entertainment.
  • Taking NY (wt) is a one-hour docu-series centering on a group of beautiful, high-powered and well-connected best friends in New York City including Leigh Cherrier, the Beauty Director for Louis Licari; Marianne Garvey, gossip columnist; Leila Shams, fashion designer; and Kelly Brady, celebrity publicist.  Together they cover the world of fashion, beauty, gossip and entertainment in the Big Apple.  Produced by Discovery Studios.

Entertainment One (eOne)
is teaming with Paul WS Anderson and Jeremy Bolt, collaborators on the Resident Evil movie franchise, to develop a one-hour psychological thriller television series titled The Reel.  First-time writer, Adam D’Alba created and wrote the spec which was brought to eOne.  The Reel is a “found footage” series and centers on a young documentarian who searches for evidence of the supernatural.  The series offers a case-per-week format that leads viewers through a season-long mystery. Anderson and Bolt will serve as executive producers along with eOne’s John Morayniss, Noreen Halpern and Michael Rosenberg.

Alec Baldwin was tapped to narrate the upcoming docu-series Frozen Planet set to premiere on Discovery Channel in the US next March.  Frozen Planet is a co-production of Discovery Channel and BBC.

Drama pilot Ray Donovan for Showtime has cast Liev Schreiber in the title role as a professional “fixer” for the rich and famous in Los Angeles.  Ann Biderman is on board as executive producer along with Mark Gordon and Bryan Zuriff for the Mark Gordon Co.  Production will begin in first quarter 2012 in L.A.

Lifetime’s drama pilot This American Housewife, helmed by Melanie Griffith has added Ken Luckey (Glory Daze) to the cast playing Lee, the eldest son of the dysfunctional family.  The drama stars Griffith as Leila, the matriarch of a seemingly perfect family who begins hearing a voice telling her things she would rather not know.  Jeffrey Nordling was also cast as Leila’s aspiring politician husband, Stanford and Kacey Rohl will play their teenage daughter, Harper.  FOX Television Studios and Lifetime are producing with Griffith and her husband, Antonio Banderas serving as executive producers.  Banderas created the drama with Erik Jendresen who is also serving as an EP.

Season two of AMC’s The Killing will see Michelle Forbes returning in her role as the mother, Mitch Larsen whose teen daughter died under mysterious circumstances, reports TVLine.

Casting Call: 3PX Productions is casting for a new docu-series and looking for pregnant mothers who have pregnant daughters at the same time.  A major cable network is interested in documenting your lives if you find yourself and your daughter in this unique situation.  If both you and your daughter are outgoing and interested in sharing your stories, please contact the casting team immediately at: [email protected].  Please include a brief description of why you should be part of this docu-series and what has happened in your lives since you both found out you are pregnant.  Include your phone number, email address and the city/state where you live.  Applicants must be 18 years or older.
