Tremor Video is TV with Benefits.
Everything you love about TV, plus touch and truth.
Meaningful, brand-healthy relationships await… here.
Maria Shriver is returning to NBC News as a special anchor. Shriver will report and produce specials and features focused on the shifting roles and emerging power of American women. Her stories will appear across multiple NBCUniversal platforms, including NBC News, CNBC, MSNBC and NBC Sports. “I’ve always believed that television can inspire and elevate humanity, and that’s my mission with this new partnership,” said Shriver. “I look forward to shining a light on all areas of a woman’s experience from faith and finances, wellness and work, to relationships and the new realities of modern life and exploring these issues in a way that brings the voices of men into these critically important conversations.” Shriver previously served as an anchor and correspondent for NBC News from 1986 until 2004.
Chris Matthews has signed a new long-term deal with MSNBC. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pact will keep Matthews at Hardball through the next presidential election. However, the 67-year-old newsman is planning to retire from his syndicated program, The Chris Matthews Show, in July.
CNN‘s new morning program co-hosted by Chris Cuomo and Kate Bolduan has been named. New Day will debut Monday, June 10. The show will be broadcast live from CNN’s studios in New York from 6 to 9a.
Four aspiring chefs trying to earn a degree at the Louisiana Culinary Institute in Baton Rouge will be the focus of the new Cooking Channel docu-series The Freshman Class. Premiering Monday, June 10 at 10:30p, the show follows four students over the course of eight episodes as they make the journey from first day of school to final exams pursuing their dream of becoming a professional chef. The show is produced by Punched in the Head Productions.
The sexy world of professional basketball and the dancers who make the fans and players go wild is explored in the new VH1 series Hit The Floor. The dramatic scripted series, starring Dean Cain, Kimberly Elise, Charlotte Ross and newcomer Taylour Paige, follows the lives and loves of the Los Angeles Devil Girls, the professional basketball dance team. Hit the Floor marks VH1’s second foray into the hour-long scripted series genre. The show premieres Monday, May 27 at 9p.
Hulu is adding two new series to its lineup. Quick Draw, a comedic western set in 1875, focuses on a Harvard-educated sheriff determined to introduce forensics to a Kansas town. East Los High, a teen drama, centers on an inner city high school where two cousins fall in love with a popular football player. Both series are slated to premiere this summer.
Comedy Central is expanding to offer a new midnight panel show hosted by comedian Chris Hardwick. The half-hour show, which will be co-produced by Funny or Die, will debut in the fall and air four nights a week.
Despite losing Larry Hagman and taking a dip in the ratings during its second season, Dallas will be back for a third. TNT has ordered 15 new episodes, to begin airing in early 2014.
