Condé Nast Entertainment has launched a new digital video network with original video series based on its print staples, GQ and Glamour. The new series include GQ’s The Ten, which features guest spots by Andy Cohen and Anthony Bourdain, and Glamour’s Elevator Makeover, and Dos and Don’ts of the Week. The series are being sponsored by Procter & Gamble, Microsoft and Mondelez International and will be distributed across the web, IPTV, mobile and tablet platforms.

Travel Channel debuts three original series this spring. Red, White & New premieres Monday, April 29 at 10p and features host Steve Watson as he travels across the nation looking for new inventions. Dig Wars, a competition show following teams of relic hunters as they search for America’s buried history, debuts Wednesday, June 12 at 10p. Burger Land, which premieres Monday, April 15 at 10p, tails show host and self-proclaimed hamburger expert George Motz, as he explores the best hamburgers in America. In addition, Airport 24/7: Miami returns with another all-access pass to one of the most dynamic airports in America on Tuesday, April 30 at 9p, and Toy Hunter returns to transport viewers across the country on the great American toy hunt on Wednesday, April 10 at 9p. “We used to be a hodgepodge of shows and didn’t have a lot of series. But now we do and we’re re-imagining travel; moving away from seeing it as ‘vacation’ toward it being a journey, with a more immersive look,” Andy Singer, Travel Channel’s GM, told Cynopsis exclusively.

ABC has named the next star of The Bachelorette: Desiree Hartsock, a castoff and viewer favorite from Sean Lowe’s season of The Bachelor. Hartsock will call the shots and get a second chance to find love on the ninth edition of the hit romance reality series. The Bachelorette will premiere Monday, May 20 at 8p. 

Speaking of bachelors, get ready to see one of them rumba. ABC has announced that the newly engaged Sean Lowe will compete on season 16 of Dancing with the Stars. Lowe will partner with professional Peta Murgatroyd. The series premieres on Monday, March 18 at 8p.

Bravo Media is giving late night TV a makeover with Fashion Queens, a new limited series airing three consecutive Sundays at 11:30p beginning March 17. The fashion-based talk show features two of Atlanta’s celebrity hairstylists, Derek J and Miss Lawrence, and New York’s fashion maven and socialite Bevy Smith.The opinionated trio will cover everything related to the world of fashion, giving their perspective on the trends, hits and misses.

VH1‘s new reality series Off Pitch premieres Wednesday, April 17 at 10p. The show follows the young adult show choir in Wisconsin called the Grand River Singers.

~ PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT ~

NBC is heading to the kitchen. The network has picked up Food Fighters, a reality competition show from Electus. The series pits amateur cooks against professional chefs. Travel Channel’s Adam Richman hosts and oversees the action.

Leading independent TV production Company Zig Zag Productions and GroupM Entertainment together with Channel 5 are collaborating on a new adventure series featuring former Wales rugby player Richard Parks. The show will follow Parks as he prepares for and embarks upon a series of adventure challenges throughout 2013. The program is scheduled for broadcast on Channel 5 in the UK in early 2014.

~ CASTING NEWS ~

Kerry Bishe, who played Kathy Stafford in the Oscar-winning Argo, has landed a co-starring role in the AMC drama pilot Halt & Catch Fire.

Karl Uban, remembered as Bones from Star Trek, has been tapped for a starring role in FOX‘s cop drama, Human, from J. J. Abrams and J.H. Wyman.

CBSBig Brother season 15 is approaching, and the show is having an open casting call on Saturday, March 16 at CBS Radford Studio, 4200 Radford Avenue, Studio City, CA, from 11a to 2p. Contestants must be 21+ to apply.

Saturday A18-49 Analysis:  FOX topped the rankings on Saturday among viewers A18-49 at 0.9/3, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. At 8p FOX’s Cops led the pack at 1.0/4, followed by Univision’s Sabado Gigante at 0.7/3. Sabado Gigante took over the lead at 9p at 0.9/3, while ABC’s 20/20 Saturday placed second at 0.8/3 and CBS’ 48 Hours Special was a close third at 0.7/2. At 10p CBS’ 48 Hours took over the lead spot at  0.9/3, followed by Univision’s Sabado Gigante at 0.8/3 and ABC’s 20/20 Saturday at 0.8/3.

CBS’ 60 Minutes led at 7p at 1.6/5, followed by ABC’s America’s Funniest Videos at 1.4/4. At 8p, CBS’ Amazing Race 22 won the hour at 2.4/7, while ABC’s Once Upon A Time was close behind at  2.3/6. FOX’s Family Guy was the ratings winner at 9p with a 2.7/7, and ABC’s Revenge made it to second place at 2.1/5.
