Action competition series, Stars Earn Stripes, set to debut on NBC August 13 at 8p with a two-hour premiere episode, has named its celebrity cast. Hosted by Entertainment Tonight correspondent Samantha Harris and former presidential candidate General Wesley Clark, the eight celebrity competitors include boxing champ Laila Ali, actor Dean Cain, actor and former NFL player Terry Crews, singer and TV personality Nick Lachey, Alaska businessman Todd Palin, Olympic gold medalist Picabo Street, The Biggest Loser trainer Dolvett Quince and WWE’s Diva Eve Torres. Produced by Dick Wolf and Mark Burnett, the series pays tribute to America’s military veterans by raising funds for charities and veteran’s groups. Each celebrity participant will be paired with a former member of the armed forces or law enforcement agency who will train them on various military-style missions.
Marking its tenth year of covering the Wimbledon Championships the world’s oldest tennis tournament, ESPN has expanded its live footage hours to 140, reports THR. ESPN will offer daylong marathon telecasts beginning next Monday through the men’s finals on July 7. ESPN and ESPN2 will provide hi-def coverage including three days of simultaneous matches all day from July 2 through July 4. ESPN3, the live 24/7 ESPN network will further expand its schedule to offer more coverage. The newly expanded schedule is part of an agreement between ESPN and the All England Lawn Tennis Club that was revealed at the end of the 2011 Championships. On the digital front, viewers can catch Wimbledon action online at WatchESPN.com and via the WatchESPN app for smartphones and tablet devices.
HGTV reports its series House Hunters International aired its 500th episode last night at 1030p. The network has aired this series and the original House Hunters for more than a decade and both series have delivered steady ratings and ranked in the top 10 on the network. On average, more than 25 million viewers tune in to the House Hunters franchise each month.
A fourth season is on tap for National Geographic Channel’s (NGC) series Border Wars beginning July 9 at 9p. The series embeds again with officers and agents of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and documents their battles against drug cartels at border crossings in Arizona and Texas and for the first time follows DHS agents in Puerto Rico. Border Wars is produced by National Geographic Television for NGC.
The new series, Great Western Dude Ranches premieres tonight on HRTV, The Network for Horse Sports at 9p. Airing through the fall, this new half-hour series travels to classic Dude Ranches located throughout Western North America. Tonight’s opening episode features Averill’s Flathead Lake Lodge in Montana which offers horseback riding and other horse and water recreational activities set in the backdrop of Montana’s scenery. The series will visit other Dude Ranches in Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and Arizona. All episodes of the series will also be available at HRTV.com, HRTV’s online video service.
In July, Documentary Channel serves up the second annual American Road Trip featuring a series of documentary films examining unique stories from across the nation. The documentary lineup kicks off with the US television premiere of Wild Horses & Renegades on July 1 at 8p. The series of films continues through the month of July with several films until the US television debut of The Bus on July 29 at 8p. The season seven premiere of Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live last Sunday drew in 1.7 million total viewers and 1.0 million with A18-49, a +64% and a +59% increase respectively over the season six premiere that aired on January 8, 2012. Hosted by Andy Cohen, Watch What Happens Live is produced by Embassy Row.
REELZCHANNEL is offering a Spanish language Secondary Audio Programming (SAP) feed nationwide. The network’s SAP feed is presently available on Time Warner Cable in Los Angeles in addition to all AT&T systems across the nation. REELZCHANNEL is offering SAP for movies now and will eventually add this service to all original programming.

Ray Romano is joining NBC’s family drama Parenthood in a multi-episode arc for the series’ fourth season. Romano will play a photographer and a former photojournalist who forms a friendship with Sarah (Lauren Graham) and complicates her relationship with Mark (Jason Ritter). Romano will first appear on Parenthood’s season four premiere scheduled for September 11. NBC renewed the series last month with 15 episodes.
British actor Rupert Friend, best known for his roles in period films such as Pride & Prejudice (2005) and The Young Victoria (2009) has been cast in Showtime’s drama Homeland as a series regular for season two. Friend will play a straight-laced CIA analyst who heads a critical operation.
Brian Dietzen, who has played the recurring character Jimmy Palmer on CBS’ NCIS for years, has been elevated to series regular for the next season.

Saturday A18-49 Analysis: ABC revved up for a win Saturday at 0.9/3 A18-49, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. ABC’s Wonderful World of Disney movie, Cars finished first at 8p with a 0.8/3 and Baseball on FOX was a close contender at 0.7/3. Same scenario at 9p as ABC’s movie was #1 at 0.9/3 and more Baseball on FOX was #2 at 0.8/3. ABC polished off the final win of the night with its movie delivering a 1.1/4 at 10p while CBS’ 48 Hours Mystery repeat was next at 0.8/3.

NBC’s US Open Golf coverage did best at 7p with a 2.5/10 and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live Game Night and the Kia NBA Countdown averaged a #2 with a 1.2/5. For the rest of the evening, the NBA Finals on ABC scored the highest ratings and at 8p ABC came in with a 4.9/16 followed by NBC’s US Open Golf at 2.4/8. ABC’s ratings for the NBA Finals steadily rose to a 6.3/18 during 9p while NBC’s US Open Golf was #2 at 2.7/8. Then at 10p, ABC delivered its top ratings for the NBC Finals at 8.1/22 and the US Open Golf on NBC continued to trail in second place with a 2.5/7.
