Original police drama Flashpoint was renewed by ION Television for a fifth season containing 13 episodes. Production begins on the new episodes in February. Flashpoint has aired on ION in primetime since October 2011 following the network’s acquisition of all episodes from seasons 1-3 as well as 11 original episodes from season four. The series is produced by Pink Sky Entertainment and Avamar Entertainment in association with CTV and ION Television.
TV One premieres new docu-drama series Find Our Missing beginning January 18 at 10p. The 10-episode series focuses attention on stories about people of color who have disappeared without a trace and will encourage viewers to action by contacting police and FBI if they have vital information about the missing persons. Find Our Missing is hosted by actress S. Epatha Merkerson (NBC’s Law & Order) and is produced for TV One by Towers Productions.
A new original eight-episode series will premiere next month on Netflix as Lilyhammer starring Steven Van Zandt opens on February 6. Van Zandt, best known for his role on HBO’s The Sopranos plays a New York mobster who is relocated to rural Norway. Van Zandt will also serve as one of the series’ executive producers. Lilyhammer was developed and produced by Norway-based Rubicon TV AS. The series will be available to Netflix streaming subscribers in the US, Canada and Latin America.
To promote upcoming new series Full Metal Jousting, premiering February 12 at 10p on HISTORY, the network is partnering with the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) to offer live jousting exhibits at six PBR events this month and next. The first demonstration will take place this Saturday during intermissions at New York’s Madison Square Garden Invitational and then be on the opposite coast at the Anaheim Invitational at the Honda Center on January 14. HISTORY’S new series will also be promoted at PBR events in Portland, OR on January 21-22; in Sacramento on January 28-29; in Baltimore on February 3-4 and in Oklahoma City on February 10-12.
Monday’s one-hour debut of novela La Que No Podia Amar (The One Who Couldn’t Love) on Univision tallied an average audience of 4.1 million total viewers in addition to 2.3 million among A18-49 and 1.4 million with A18-34.
On New Year’s night, OWN premiered its new primetime series Oprah’s Next Chapter with a two-hour episode at 9p that earned the network’s highest Sunday debut ever with a 1.1 rating among W25-54 and 1.1 million total viewers.

Making a comeback to series television, Cybill Shepherd was cast to co-star opposite Jennifer Love Hewitt in Lifetime’s drama The Client List. Shepherd is reprising her role as the mother of Hewitt’s character as both actresses had previously starred in Lifetime’s original movie of the same name. Sony is producing the 10-episode one-hour series.
Simon Cowell is returning as full-time judge for the sixth season of Britain’s Got Talent this coming spring. During the last season, Cowell judged only the live shows as his time was filled with launching The X-Factor in the US on FOX. Cowell joins David Williams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden on the show.
Casting Call: ABC’s The Revolution is looking for participants in several categories to appear on their show: Moms interested in learning more about the ingredients in energy drinks and the show will give you the information you need; women in their 40’s who are interested in learning more about breast health; and women who have serious foot problems. Friday A18-49 Analysis: Univision handily won Friday night among A18-49 with a 1.4/5, according to final national ratings from Nielsen. Univision took the 8p hour with Una Familia con Suerte at 1.4/5 followed by a repeat broadcast of Kitchen Nightmares on FOX at 1.1/4. During 9p, it was the same two networks facing off as Univision’s Una Familia con Suerte continued to do best at 1.6/5 and CBS placed second with a CSI: NY repeat at 1.2/4. Univision capped off the night a winner through 10p with La Rose de Guadalupe at 1.4/4 and NBC’s Dateline was next in line at 1.2/4.

- Russell Brown was hired as SVP/Consumer Products Licensing in charge of developing and negotiating new merchandising opportunities for all MSLO brands. Russell previously worked for Marvel Entertainment and Iconix Brand Group, Inc.
- Charlie Tiersch was named VP/Business Development joining from NBCUniversal.

CBS Sports Network hired former Michigan State basketball player Mateen Cleaves as a College Basketball Studio Analyst. Mateen will work with analyst Wally Szczerbiak, insider Jon Rothstein and host Adam Zucker on Inside College Basketball each Wednesday.
Effective immediately, Lorri Leighton was promoted to SVP/Programming with Atlas Media where she reports to Bruce David Klein, President/Executive Producer. In her new position, Lorri will spearhead all current programming at Atlas and focus on managing showrunners, developing production teams and being the company’s liaison with network clients.
Starting January 3, Walter Augustin took on new responsibilities as VP/Regional Sales Manager for FOX Stations Sales in Chicago, overseeing all national sales activity. Prior to this appointment, Walter was NSM for WFLD FOX Chicago.
CBS News appointed Jeff Glor as Anchor of the Sunday edition of the CBS Evening News. Since November 2011, Jeff has served as Special Correspondent for CBS This Morning and he will continue in this role. Most recently, Jeff was the News Anchor of The Early Show since January 2011 and he has been the anchor of the Saturday edition of the CBS Evening News and a national correspondent across CBS News broadcasts. He joined CBS News in 2007.
