Cynopsis: Kids!
01/27/10
Good morning. It’s Wednesday, January 27, 2010, and this is your first early morning Kids briefing.
Disney Channel and Disney XD are partnering with Common Sense Media in an initiative to help kids/tweens learn to safely make their way around the internet and various other digital platforms as well as encouraging parents think about how media and technology fit into their family’s life. The effort includes a public service announcement (PSA) and website, which will include Characters from Disney Channel’s series Phineas and Ferb and will support Common Sense Media’s safety digital media ‘guide’, Rules of the Road. The PSA will premiere tonight at 8p on both Disney Channel and Disney XD. Additionally, Disney Online has created a companion website, www.disney.com/commonsense , which includes the PSA, a parent online safety guide, and invites kids to test their parents’ knowledge. Common Sense Media will show the PSA in Washington DC this week at the 6th Annual State of the Net Conference.

The story revolves around a teen boy who has grown up in one of the underwater homesteads and a teen girl from Topside (land), who together uncover a government conspiracy. Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Lee Stollman will produce. Also serving as a producer is Gregory Little, who brought the project to Gotham Group.
