Season three of AARP’s Inside E Street opens on RLTV this week, airing on weekdays at 630p. The half-hour non-partisan political talk show focuses on current issues affecting boomers and seniors in the areas of healthcare, finance and retirement. Host Lark McCarthy is a former White House Correspondent for ABC News and was the news anchor at the FOX affiliate in Washington, D.C. for 17 years.
Upfront 2012 Update: nuvoTV targeting bi-cultural Latinos said it will host Upfront presentations in key markets beginning late March. The network will host events in Los Angeles on March 27; Chicago on April 17; and New York on April 24.
Original series My Ride Rules gears up with new episodes on SPEED beginning February 28 at 10p. The 13-episode series has four car owners compete against each other by showcasing their cars and letting others drive them. My Ride Rules is produced by ITV Studios America with four episodes filmed in Dallas, four in Los Angeles and five in Atlanta.
truTV renewed original series Hardcore Pawn for a sixth season and gave additional episodes to series Lizard Lick Towing. Hardcore Pawn is back for the second half of its fifth season starting March 20 and the upcoming sixth season is slated to open later in 2012. To date, Hardcore Pawn has averaged close to 3.0 million viewers. Presently in its second season, Lizard Lick Towing is averaging 1.6 million viewers. Both series are from Zodiak USA.
Sketch series Key & Peele received a second season order from Comedy Central with ten episodes. The new season will bow this fall. For its series premiere, Key & Peele tallied 2.1 million total viewers.
Food Network Canada premieres the 12-episode half-hour series Family Cook Off March 1 at 9p. Two episodes will air back-to-back each week hosted by Entertainment Tonight Canada’s Kim D’Eon. Force Four Entertainment Inc. produces the series in association with Food Network Canada.
Monday’s fifth annual BET Honors telecast on BET at 9p drew in 2.6 million total viewers and posted a 2.2 coverage rating among 2.0 million households. BET will air encores of BET Honors tonight at 10p, on Saturday at 8p and again on February 23 at 10p.

Crown Media Family Networks and DISH Network L.L.C. renewed their affiliation agreement through a multi-year deal. Part of the new deal allows DISH to feature Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel in its newly-launched Heartland TV package. DISH will also place Hallmark Movie Channel as part of its Blockbuster @home subscription movie package.
A spin-off of series Hardcore Pawn is in the works at truTV. Hardcore Pawn: Fort Bragg will feature the staff and customers at Guns Plus, a pawnshop specializing in weapons and military equipment. The network ordered seven episodes from Zodiak USA and the series is set to debut later this year. Grant Mansfield, Natalka Znak, Mike Gamson and Ken Snow are EPs.
Soon after ending his five-season stint on NBC’s Chuck, Zachary Levi landed a half-hour comedy pilot project on FOX. Levi will play one half of a married couple in Let It Go, an ensemble comedy about a married couple, the husband’s best friend and his wife’s sister. DJ Nash is writer and EP along with Peter Tolan and Michael Wimer.
ABC’s comedy pilot White Man Van tapped J.K. Simmons to play Kyle Bornheimer’s father. The single-camera comedy is based on the same-titled UK series about a blue collar guy (Bornheimer) who must put his dreams on hold to take over the family handyman business from his dad (Simmons).
Drama pilot Elementary for CBS has selected Jonny Lee Miller for the lead role. Miller most recently guest starred in eight episodes of Dexter and has two feature films in production including Dark Shadows and Byzantium. In the TV pilot, Miller will play the famous fictional detective Sherlock Holmes though with cases set in modern-day New York. CBS Television Studios is producing.
Peter Mensah (Spartacus) will be part of HBO’s True Blood series in a recurring role during season five as Kibwe, a ruling member of the Vampire Authority.

Monday A18-49 Analysis: NBC held its Monday lead among the A18-49 viewers with a 4.9/13, according to final national ratings from Nielsen. At 8p, NBC’s The Voice hit the right note with viewers at 5.5/15 and CBS’ sitcoms How I Met Your Mother and 2 Broke Girls broke into second place at an average of 3.6/10. NBC’s The Voice surged during its second hour through 9p to a 6.5/16 while CBS’ comedies Two and a Half Men and Mike & Molly were next at an average of 3.7/9. NBC’s new series Smash was #1 at 10p in its second week at 2.8/7 and CBS’ Hawaii Five-O was a close contender at 2.7/7.

CBS’ coverage of the 54th Annual Grammy Awards smashed the competition at 8p with a 13.8/34 and ABC was a distant second place with Once Upon a Time at 3.0/7. Former IGA Worldwide executive Ned Sands joins the Live Nation Network team as Regional VP/West Region. Based in Hollywood, Ned will supervise the San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Sacramento, Seattle and Denver territories.
Edward M. Anderson was appointed VP/International Free Television at Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution. Edward will work closely with and report to Marion Edwards, President/International Television in the areas of network, cable, satellite, and digital television business including format licensing. He will also be involved with integrating the Fox digital strategy across these areas. Edward is based in Los Angeles.
At Twentieth Television, the position of VP/Sales and Integrations was handed to Rob Wussler, effective immediately. Rob will spearhead sales and integration efforts for Twentieth Television. Based in New York, Rob reports to Joe Oulvey, EVP/Ad Sales.
