The transaction is valued at approximately $1 billion and allows Cox Communications to retain a 35% interest in the network. A&E Network’s debut of The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty on Sunday at 9p attracted 2.3 million total viewers, per Nielsen and Multichannel News. An encore airing at 10p delivered an additional 1.8 million viewers. The series, with six episodes, airs on Sundays at 10p. Broadcast Evening News Weekly Average Ratings (week of December 7, 2009) Televangelist Oral Roberts, 91, died yesterday in Newport Beach, CA. The cause of death was complications due to pneumonia. Oral is best known as the charismatic Pentecostal preacher who founded a religious, educational and communications dynasty based in Tulsa, OK. Oral’s empire consists of a university, leading traveling healing “crusades” around the world and preaching on primetime television as well as a multitude of books and magazines. Oral’s television career started in 1954, coinciding with the rise of television, by filming his worship services held in a traveling tent. By the 1970s, Time magazine said his TV program, Oral Roberts and You was the top religious telecast in the US. Also of note, Oral Roberts University estimated Oral had laid his hands on more than 1.5 million people during his career and reached more than 500 million people through television and radio. Among those he counseled through prayer were Presidents John F. Kennedy, Richard M. Nixon and Jimmy Carter as well as John Lennon who wrote Oral a letter in 1972 asking for forgiveness for his famous remark that the Beatles were “more popular than Jesus.” Oral’s wife Evelyn of 66 years died in 2005. He is survived by a daughter, Roberta and a son, Richard as well as 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The patriots were disguised as Indians, and the event was later nicknamed the Boston Tea Party. The act was protesting taxation without representation and the monopoly the government granted to the East India Company. Answer to Yesterday’s Trivia Question: Who am I? I was a model. A particular shampoo account was my signature campaign. One day I realized my manager was embezzling from me, and I was nearly broke, and my modeling days were being me. So I went into a completely new business under the advisement of a new and wisecracking acquaintance. The new business was a success and continued strong until I made the mistake of falling for my “acquaintance.” That’s when we jumped the shark and it was a quick decline from there. Who am I?
