      Another new face joins CBS’ The Talk when the daytime talk show premieres its second season today.  Saturday Night Live alumna Molly Shannon will be part of the talk show’s panel as guest host through the month of September joining returning hosts Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen and Sharon Osbourne and newly-hired host Sheryl Underwood.  Previously-announced, Kris Jenner also will appear as a fill-in co-host.  It was also official late last week Holly Robinson Peete is not returning as host on The Talk this fall.  The actress confirmed on her blog CBS did not ask her to return to the show.  Former co-host Leah Remini additionally did not have her contract renewed for season two. 

      Medical drama HawthoRNe, starring Jada Pinkett Smith was canceled by TNT after three seasons.  At the end of its third season, HawthoRNe averaged a 0.7 rating with A18-49 and 2.51 million total viewers, a 22% and 19% decline respectively compared to the second season. 

      Laredo, TX, sitting on the border between the US and Mexico is the setting for a new series Bordertown: Laredo premiering on A&E Network October 13 with back-to-back episodes at 10p and 1030p.  The series with ten half-hour episodes is from Al Roker Entertainment, Inc. in association with CRM Entertainment, Inc. and follows members of the Laredo Texas Police Department Narcotics Unit as they daily serve and protect our country from the illegal drug trafficking business that takes place along this border region.

      ~ DISTRIBUTION, CLEARANCE & CARRIAGE ~

      AMC’s drama series Mad Men will be seen via Sundance Channel in Asia and Europe per a acquisition deal made by AMC/Sundance Channel Global.  In Asia, Sundance Channel rolls out season one of Mad Men this October with 13 one-hour episodes in hi-def for the first time in Korea and on its channels in Singapore and Taiwan.  Also this October in Europe, the first season will debut in Spain and season two in hi-def will premiere for the first time in France and French-speaking Benelux.

      ~ PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT ~

      A drama script from writer Rob Wright was picked up by FOX.  The one-hour drama is about a female doctor who works for the mob.  Sony Pictures Television is producing the project and Wright, Josh Berman and Michael Dinner are all executive producing.

      Following a bidding war, ABC is the victor for a comedy project titled How to Live With Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life from Claudia Lonow (Accidentally on Purpose), reports Variety.  ABC gave the half-hour project a put-pilot deal about a single mom who moves in with her parents to help raise her daughter.  20th Century Fox Television is producing in association with Imagine TV.

      Thursday A18-49 Analysis: Univision won Thursday night with its lineup at 1.8/5 among A18-49, according to final national ratings from Nielsen.  Univision’s Teresa attracted more viewers during 8p at 1.8/6 followed by the average of double repeat episodes of The Big Bang Theory on CBS at 1.4/5.  CBS then slid into first place at 9p with Big Brother at 2.5/7 and Univision moved to second place with La Fuerza del Destino at 2.1/6.  At 10p, Univision made its way back to the top with Las 10 Estrellade Mira Quien Baila! at 1.6/4 and ABC’s Rookie Blue checked in at #2 with 1.1/3.
