Tremor Video’s Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Randy Kilgore spoke with Cynopsis about the future of digital measurement. “Digital video on the big screen, or in the living room, shows the biggest convergence of video to date, yet measurement and delivery systems are still completely separate,” Kilgore said. “I expect Google Glass and smart watches will be addressed via experimental budgets for the foreseeable future.” Hear more from Kilgore on our “Social Media & The Second Screen” panel at the Cynopsis Digital Measurement Summit, November 13 in New York City. ~ IN THE NEWS ~

Amazon‘s taking a hybrid approach to the distribution of its first two original series. Hoping to reel viewers in, the first three eps will be released at once (a la Netflix), then revert to a weekly schedule via subscription service Prime Instant Video. “We’re constantly experimenting and trying new things,” said Amazon Studios director Roy Price. Alpha House, starring John Goodman launches Friday, November 15 and Betas, with Ed Begley Jr., debuts Friday, November 22.

Veteran TV and film producer Nicky Weinstock has been lured to Lionsgate TV and Debmar-Mercury to oversee development of comedies using the “10/90” deal formula, reports Variety. In the format, a net skips the pilot step and orders 10 episodes of a series, ordering another 90 if ratings targets are reached. In addition to cost savings, the arrangement allows a show to be pitched earlier to the lucrative syndication market.

When animated comedy American Dad moves from Fox to TBS for its eleventh season next year, co-creator and co-exec producer Mike Barker won’t be making the trip. The decision was made because production “could be running more smoothly,” said the Hollywood Reporter.

~ PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT ~

With Diane English (Murphy Brown) aboard, NBC‘s script commitment for a comedy starring tutu-ed Ellen darlings Sophia Grace and Rosie has turned into a pilot production commitment. English will exec produce through Bend in the Road Productions, with Ellen DeGeneresA Very Good Production and Warner Bros. TV.

TNT has ordered six episodes of APB With Troy Dunn, an unscripted series which has Dunn reuniting people with lost loved ones. The twist? A new social media app that gets viewers involved in the search. Show premieres Friday, January 17 at 10p.

Outside Television and Red Bull Media House expanded their programming partnership to create “huge synergies for both of these active lifestyle brands,” says Outside’s SVP of Programming and Production Rob Faris.
