Seth MacFarlane took to Twitter to shoot down any talk that he might be returning as host of next year’s Oscars. “Traumatized critics exhale: I’m unable to do the Oscars again. Tried to make it work schedule-wise, but I need sleep,” MacFarlene posted on Monday. “However, I highly recommend the job, as [Craig] Zadan and [Neil] Meron are two of the most talented producers in the business.” While MacFarlane’s hosted Oscars was the most-viewed telecast in three years, it was panned by critics.

Yesterday was the 72nd Peabody Awards in New York City, of which Cynopsis was a proud sponsor. Thirty-nine awards were given out at the Waldorf Astoria hotel, both to individuals such as comedy king Lorne Michaels as well as to the first blog to win a Peabody, SCOTUSblog.com, which covers the Supreme Court. The biggest crowd reactions were reserved for ABC News’ Robin Roberts, who said she shared her struggle with cancer on Good Morning America because it was a “teachable moment,” and CBS’s 60 Minutes’ Joy in the Congo, about a Congolese man who taught himself to read music and eventually assembled an orchestra.

The second season of IFC‘s Comedy Bang! Bang! kicks off on Friday, July 12 at 10p with 20 all new episodes and a robust line-up of guest stars, including Jessica Alba, Zoe Saldana and Zach Woods. Host Scott Aukerman and musical cohort Reggie Watts are both returning to the show. Comedy Bang! Bang! is produced for IFC by Abso Lutely Productions.

Kimora Lee guests on the season premiere.
