As more than one billion Catholics across the world wait to see who will be elected the next Pope, networks have sent their heavy hitters to Rome to cover the events of the Papal Conclave, which begins this morning. Cher may not get to turn back time, but she will be revisiting it. The singing/acting superstar is set to be the first host of Friday Night Spotlight, a new film showcase launching April 5 on Turner Classic Movies. TCM host Robert Osborne will join Cher to kick off the franchise with A Woman’s World: The Defining Era of Women in Film, a collection of 17 films handpicked by Cher to illustrate the evolving roles of women from the late 1930s to the early1950s. Each month following, Friday Night Spotlight will feature a celebrity or expert host who will take viewers through a collection of films focusing on a specific topic. A Woman’s World: The Defining Era of Women in Film will premiere Friday, April 5, at 8 p with Mildred Pierce. “Working with Robert isn’t like working at all. We can’t stop talking about the classics and obscure golden oldies. We talk through the breaks while they move the cameras, check the lighting, and do the touch-ups. I can’t stop when it comes to the subject of old films, and then I get Robert going, and then the crew and director finally say, ‘Ahh, Cher? We have a show to do.’ Robert and I laugh and become gown-ups again. We don’t work. We play every Friday night in April! Come have fun with us,” said Cher, who last appeared on the network with Osborne as a Guest Programmer in September 2011.

Rob Lowe will narrate The ’80s: The Decade That Made Us, premiering Sunday, April 14-Tuesday, April 16 on National Geographic Channel. The six-part series looks at the moments, trends, inventions, and culture that have shaped our world today. “National Geographic Channel is a leader in creating engaging and relevant programs that viewers can trust,” said Lowe.

ABC Family has announced its summer line-up. In addition to the return of series Melissa & Joey (Wednesday, May 29 at 8p), Baby Daddy (Wednesday, May 29 at 8:30p), Switched at Birth (Monday, June 10 at 8p) and Pretty Little Liars (Tuesday, June 11 at 8p), the network will introduce four new original series. Dancing Fools, a reality competition series, premieres Wednesday, May 29 at 9 p. Twisted, a mystery drama centered on a 16-year-old teen with a troubled past, premieres Tuesday, June 11 at 9p. The Vineyard, a docu-soap that follows a handful of 20-somethings on Martha’s Vineyard for the summer, premieres Wednesday, July 24 at 9p.

Science Channel is going undercover with Scam City, a new series that dissects the tactics of thieves, con men and scam artists in some of the busiest and most populated cities across the globe. The show follows host Conor Woodman as he sets up shady taxi drivers, illicit drug lords, and expert pick-pockets, playing the role of the innocent tourist to expose the illegal practices that have victimized travelers for hundreds of years. Scam City premieres Monday, April 15th at 10p.
