Cynopsis

02/15/05

Good morning. It’s Tuesday, February 15, 2005, and this is your first early morning briefing.

CBS won Sunday night with a lot of help from The Grammy Awards, giving the network an overall 6.8/16 A18-49 rating according to fast affiliate numbers from Nielsen Media Research.  ABC was a very close #2 with 2 hours of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and an original Desperate Housewives and Boston Legal.  NBC, Fox and WB were dusted.  At 7p the first round of Extreme Makeover:HE led with a 4.1/12, well in front of CBS and NBC, both posting a 7 share. At 8p the Grammys pulled out in front with a 7.9/18 demo rating, inching out the second hour of EM:HE (6.8/16).  Desperate Housewives rallied to win the 9p hour with a 9.6/21 over Grammy’s 8.2/18.  At at 10p the Grammys had a stronghold with a 8.5/20 over Boston Legal’s 5.1/12 and Crossing Jordan’s 3.8/9.  Overall, CBS’ Grammys delivered an 8.2/18 from 8-11p, with an estimated 18.8 million viewers, down significantly from last year’s 26.3 million viewers.

  • Charlie Craig has been cast in Fox‘s drama pilot Revved (20th), a project set in NASCAR country from 20th.
  • WB has ordered three untitled pilots:  the first, a cast-contingent order for a comedy project about two young women making their way in NYC, from Carsey-Werner/Martin-Stein Co.; the second,  from Warner Bros. TV/Jerry Bruckheimer TV, is about three 20-something men who turn to a female life coach to help them fine tune their relationships with women; and a third from 20th/Imagine TV about a young woman and her mother who meet the girl’s father for the first time. He originally was an unnamed sperm donor.
