A+E Networks is spreading the wealth with miniseries Bonnie & Clyde. The two-part Sony Pictures TV production will be simulcast on Lifetime, History and A&E, a first for the net, on Sunday, December 8 and Monday, December 9 at 9p.
 

~ MORE GOOD STUFF ~

Binge viewing is increasing, according to a new study from Nielsen. The measurement company’s 2013 Over-the-Top Video Analysis found 88 percent of Netflix users and 70 percent of Hulu Plus users report streaming three or more episodes of the same show in one day.

A federal judge denied ABC‘s motion for a preliminary injunction to stop Dish Network‘s ad-skipping AutoHop device – but the net will have more leverage when its carriage deal with Dish expires this month. CBS, Fox, NBS and ABC all argue the Dish service modifies their content in an illegal manner. 

Lexus will start airing live commercials on NBC‘s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, with improv comedians acting out concepts submitted by viewers via Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram. Bottom line: the stunt should drive tune-in for the ads.

The 65th Emmy Awards will pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of two seminal moments in TV history: the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963 and the Beatles’ appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show on February 9, 1964. The Emmy segment will “explore the tie between them.”

Emmy producer Ken Erlich addressed the backlash since the announcement that his awards telecast would single out five actors for special tributes, apart from the traditional In Memoriam segment. The inclusion of relative newcomer Cory Monteith (Glee) and exclusion of TV icon Larry Hagman (Dallas), in particular, has drawn criticism. “There’s only so much you can do,” Erlich told reporters Wednesday. “In all candor, this becomes a producer’s option.”

Michelle Obama gathered media, entertainment and food industry execs to discuss food marketing to children. The First Lady praised Disney for its initiative, launched last year, to set higher nutritional standards for products featured in its children’s programming.

Bravo is airing a reunion special for makeover show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (2003-2007). Hosted by the net’s Andy Cohen, the show will bring back the “Fab Five” to reminisce and share updates. Queer Eye: The Reunion bows next month.

Budweiser released the next installment of its “Made for Music” initiative on Wednesday, a short-form digital doc with Rihanna. The brand aims to celebrate the mark artists make on pop culture.

Mario Lopez (Extra) joins Eva Longoria to host the 2013 NCLR Alma Awards, honoring Latino entertainers. The one-hour special airs live on MSNBC Friday, September 27 at 10p
 
Magical Elves (Top Chef, Fashion Star) took a serious turn for Showtime doc. Six-part Time of Death takes an unflinching look at people facing their imminent mortality. Show launches Friday, November 1 at 9p.

Ensequence announced the launch of AdConneqt+, when enables viewers to instantly respond to ads, providing engagement data.

The Grammys Nomination Concert is coming back to the City of Angels. After a year in Nashville, the event returns to LA’s Nokia Theatre for a live show on CBS Friday, December 6 at 10p. Grammys air Sunday, January 26.

~ CASTING ~

Missi Pyle has been cast in TV Land pilot Jennifer Falls, as the BFF of Jaime Pressly‘s Jennifer. Pyle guested on the net’s The Exes.

Taye Diggs (Private Practice) will guest star on the third season of Fox‘s New Girl. Diggs plays a ladies man on the same ep that Damon Wayans Jr., who was in the Fox sitcom’s pilot ep, returns for a story arc. New Girl airs Tuesdays at 9p.

~ DISTRIBUTION ~

Brit-centric streamer Acorn TV debuts three U.S. premieres of popular U.K. series: comedy Doc Martin, mystery Vera and cop show Above Suspicion. Eps start airing Monday, October 7.

~ RATINGS ~

Fox jumped the line to premiere its Tuesday sitcoms early, winning Brooklyn Nine-Nine a 2.5 rating/8 share in A18-49, and Dads a 2.1/7. Up against NBC‘s America’s Got Talent, New Girl and The Mindy Project had it tougher. Girl managed to match its last-season premiere with 2.9/8, but Mindy took a dip from year ago, to 1.9/5.

Everyone loves a wedding. Series premiere of Bravo‘s I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding drew more than 1.5 million viewers and 740,000 A18-49, according to Nielsen.

Tuesday A18-49 Analysis: FOX won the most A18-49 viewers with 2.4/7, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. FOX new sitcom set Dads and Brooklyn Nine-Nine took top honors in the 8p hour with 2.5/8, versus 1.7/6 or Univision’s Porque el Amor Manda’s 1.7/6. At 9p, NBC’s America’s Got Talent edged out FOX’s New Girl and Mindy Project 2.5/7 to 2.4/7. But it wasn’t close at 10p, with Talent drawing 2.5/8 to closest competitor ABC, earning a 1.4/4 for the final hour of movie Iron Man 2.

Discovery Networks International announced that President and CEO Mark Hollinger is resigning effective June, 2014. Hollinger, who joined Discovery in 1991, said he wants to spend time with his family.

Albie Hecht joins HLN as Executive Vice President and GM, effective September 30. He has been serving as CEO of Worldwide Biggies.

Thinkfactory Media promoted Adam Reed to Executive Vice President. He had been an Executive Producer at the company.

Amanda Ploughman joins Shaw Media as its marketing head. She had been chief marketing officer at Pelmorex Media.
