The guys have it: Excluding its smash debut, week 2 of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. delivered ABC‘s highest A18-49 rating (3.3/10) for Tuesday 8-9p in two years, and ranked as Tuesday’s top show in all key male demos. Still, the show was down about a third from its premiere. The entire lineup saw double-digit dips, with freshman series Lucky 7 plummeting to a .7/2 in the demo.
S.H.I.E.L.D. couldn’t fend off CBS‘s NCIS, which notched 3.5/11 in the Nielsens and an evening-high 20 million viewers for the final appearance of popular cast member Cote de Pablo.
NBC was the only net on Tuesday to skirt big rating declines. Both two-hour The Voice (4.5/13) and newbie Chicago Fire (2.6/8) held steady.
CNN‘s New Day is looking brighter. After a bumpy start, the morning news show, launched in June, grew 29 percent in total viewers year-to-year, to 303,000, and 15 percent in A25-54, to 107,000.
