Andy Cohen is leaving his corporate role as a EVP of development at Bravo to run his new production company, Most Talkative. Cohen has a first-look deal to develop primetime shows for the net. He’ll continue as host of Bravo’s late-night talker, Watch What Happens Live, which was renewed for two years.
NBCUniversal is now the sole proud owner of Sprout, the net for pre-schoolers it had shared with PBS and HIT Television Ventures. “We see enormous potential in Sprout,” said chairman of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Bonnie Hammer, “and we are committed to our investment in the kids and family arena.”
CBS moved up the premiere date of Intelligence. The cyber thriller, initially set to launch February 24, will instead debut Tuesday, January 7 at 9p. On January 13, the series moves to its regular time slot, Mondays at 10p. Hostages wraps up its run on Monday, January 6 with a two-hour finale at 9p.
Efforts to have advertisers pay for Live+7 viewing fall short for CBS CEO Leslie Moonves. “We’re pushing for live plus 30,” Moonves told investors at a conference Wednesday. As for digital service Aereo, the exec was blunt. “More people talk about Aereo than subscribe to it,” said Moonves. “It is illegal to take our signal.”
E! documentary “I Am Britney Jean” follows Britney Spears as she prepares for her high-profile, two-year Las Vegas gig. Produced by World of Wonder, the 90-minute special airs Sunday, December 22 at 8p, five days before Spears’ Sin City opening. A rebroadcast airs at 9:30p.
YouTube star Shane Dawson announced to his over 1.5 million Twitter followers that “AHH! I SOLD MY TV SHOW TO @NBC!” The half-hour comedy from Sony Pictures Television, Losin’ It, is a workplace comedy set at a weight loss center. Might not be hard to find an audience – Dawson has over 10 million subscribers across his three YouTube channels.
FXX canceled late-night talk show Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, which had relocated from FX. While the series drew respectable numbers on FX, without a strong lead-in on FXX, recent episodes drew as few as 12,000 viewers.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President Kennedy, History will host a “JFK Twitter Takeover,” an eight-day, hour-by-hour insider account of the days leading up to the shooting and its chaotic aftermath. Starting November 18, HISTORY.com will also publish related original features across its editorial franchises. “HISTORY.com will feature hundreds of pieces of content including Caroline Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy slideshows, original videos from our Film Corps library, and speeches and phone call recordings,” Evan Silverman, Senior Vice President, Digital Media, A+E Networks, tells Cynopsis, “all of which will shed more light on this solemn occasion.”

Discovery Channel has a sports docu-series on tap, showing professional athletes being taken through their paces by notoriously tough trainer, Mike Barwis (also an exec producer on the show). It won’t be all sweat and tears, though – Funny or Die (@midnight) is producing.
Insults fly “and the winter gloves come off” in Dance Moms Holiday Special: Twas the Fight Before Christmas. The Lifetime show’s first holiday event airs Tuesday, December 10 at 9p.
Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry and TLC have been added to the roster of performers at the American Music Awards, along with “a special unannounced guest.” The Dick Clark Productions event airs on ABC Sunday, November 24 at 8p.
MTV is feeding teen frenzy ahead of a hotly anticipated new film. MTV’s The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Fan Tribute includes interviews with the film’s stars, including Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, with the cast answering fan-submitted questions. Lionsgate film opens November 22; the MTV special airs Sunday, November 17 at 8p.
AXS TV will broadcast the 20th annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert, hosted by Clare Danes with performances by Mary j. Blige, James Blunt and Envy. The event will honor the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. “To be able to bring our audience artists of this caliber on behalf of promoting peace is truly an honor,” said AXS TV founder Mark Cuban. Show airs Wednesday, December 11 at 8p.
ID‘s annual “ode to wicked women” lineup includes Facing Evil with Candice DeLong and Deadly Women, and wraps up with the season 2 premiere of Wives with Knives – on Black Friday, November 29, starting at 8p.
In the interest of giving the audience “a fresh take” on the series as it heads into its 29th season, MTV for the first time is bringing exes together under the same roof in Real World: Ex-Plosion. The reality show returns to San Francisco, where “The original seven cast members have no idea their exes will be moving in,” said creator/exec producer Jonathan Murray, forcing “many incredibly real situations that will resonate with our viewers.” New season premieres in 2014.
How will Duck Dynasty play in France? A+E Networks will find out after its launch of two channels with pay TV’s Canal Plus. Planete Plus A&E will introduce the French to the bearded Robertsons, reports Variety, and Planet Plus Crime + Investigation will feature A&E shows like Casanove Killers.
Friends‘ Matthew Perry and former on-screen wife Courteney Cox reunite when Perry guests on season five of Cox’s Cougartown. Cox had appeared on Perry‘s short-lived NBC comedy, Go On, in March. Cougartown returns to TBS on Tuesday, January 7 at 10p.
Brooke Shields will guest star on The Michael J. Fox Show as a nerdy single mom in a story arc set for 2014, per the Hollywood Reporter. The NBC comedy airs Thursdays at 9:30p.

NBC ordered a pilot for a variety show starring Maya Rudolph, produced by Saturday Night Live‘s Lorne Michaels and SNL alum Rudolph. The two also collaborated on NBC’s Up All Night, cancelled after a year in 2012.
Syfy is developing an adaptation of Old English epic poem Beowulf. Script for the project, from Universal Cable Productions, will be written by Matt Greenberg, who will also exec produce.
USA has ordered six episodes of archeological thriller DIG, from Homeland creator Gideon Raff and Heroes creator Tim Kring. The event series, developed by Israeli media company Keshet, is expected to debut in late 2014.
Ryan Seacrest‘s production company has sold 40 episodes of a children’s game show to Nickelodeon. Half-hour Go Viral (wt) has children competing in viral video challenges.

ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. took another dip in the A18-49 demo on Tuesday, to a series low 2.2/6 rating, but The Goldbergs was up thirteen percent in A18-49 (1.7/5) week to week, and Trophy Wife was up 9 percent in the demo (1.2/3).
Three Fox comedies saw double digit demo drops on Tuesday: Dads fell to 1.2/4, Brooklyn Nine-Nine to 1.4/4, both 14 percent drops week to week, and New Girl dipped 15 percent to 1.7/5. The Mindy Project lost one tenth, scoring 1.4/4.
They must have been celebrating at The CW on Wednesday morning: with 2.4 million viewers, the net had its most-watched Tuesday night in four years. The Originals matched its season high of 1.1/3 in the demo, while Supernatural notched a 1.1/3, up 22 percent from last week.
Vanilla Ice Goes Amish wrapped season one on November 9 as DIY‘s top prime time series among all key adult and female demos on the network this year. According to DIY, more than 6.6 million viewers tuned in to the show.

Tuesday A18-49 Analysis: CBS and NBC tied for the most A18-49 viewers with 2.5/7, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. CBS’s NCIS won at 8p with 3.0/8, followed by 2.2/6 for ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The Voice was tops in the 9p hour, averaging 3.4/9 versus 2.4/6 for CBS’s NCIS: Los Angeles. At 10p, NBC’s Chicago Fire led with 2.2/6, versus 2.0/6 for CBS’s Person of Interest.
