NBC’s singing competition series The Voice is expanding to two weeknights. The series will air live two-hour episodes starting April 2 at 8p followed by the addition of six weeks of live Tuesday night results shows commencing April 3 at 9p. The final episode of The Voice will air May 7 followed by the live finale on May 8, airing from 8-10p both nights. NBC also said the seventh season of America’s Got Talent which now includes Howard Stern as a judge, will bow with two-hour episodes on May 14 and 15 starting at 8p both nights. America’s Got Talent will then move to its regular time slots with one-hour episodes on Mondays at 8p as of May 21 and Tuesdays at 9p beginning May 22. The Voice is from Mark Burnett’s One Three Inc., Talpa Content USA, Inc. and Warner Horizon Television. America’s Got Talent is produced by FremantleMedia North America and Simon Cowell’s SYCO Television.
The Bachelorette’s Ali Fedotowsky will host NBC’s new travel show 1st Look, reports THR. Fedotowsky will journey to different US locations to discover the best in food, hotels and nightlife. 1st Look, produced by LX.TV will launch April 14 following Saturday Night Live on the ten NBC-owned TV stations: WNBC/New York, KNBC/Los Angeles, WMAQ/Chicago, WCAU/Philadelphia, KXAS/Dallas-Fort Worth, KNTV/San Francisco Bay Area, WRC/Washington, D.C., WTVJ/Miami, KNSD/San Diego and WVIT/Connecticut.
Country superstar and cookbook author Trisha Yearwood will star in a new daytime series on Food Network titled Trisha’s Southern Kitchen launching April 14 at 1030a. Shot in Nashville, the six-episode series goes inside Yearwood’s kitchen as she cooks her favorite meals and shares stories and visits from friends and family. The series is from Ellen Rakieten Entertainment and RelativityREAL.
An original weekly late-night music talk and performance show, MTV’s Hip-Hop POV will debut on MTV April 11 at 12 midnight, per THR. Filmed in New York, the new show will feature five music industry personalities offering their perspectives on current hip-hop news and music and conducting interviews. Each episode rounds out with a performance.
Season two of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding is back on TLC starting March 23 at 10p. The new season contains seven hour-long episodes spotlighting the outrageous and over-the-top celebrations of gypsies and travelers living in the UK today. A US version of the same series is in production now and will premiere on TLC later this spring. My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding is produced by Firecracker Films.
After one season, TLC has canceled All-American Muslim, the docu-series about five Lebanese American Muslim families in Michigan.
Kelly Osbourne will host the fifth 2012 NewNowNext Awards airing on Logo April 9 at 10p. The awards show will be taped in front of a live audience at the Avalon in Hollywood April 5.
Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia is rebranding AXN Beyond as beTV throughout Asia. Starting April 2, the new beTV channel will feature a new on- and off-air look and tone as well as an expanded programming lineup including sitcom Rob, reality series I Get That A Lot and such scripted series as Everybody Loves Raymond and Touched By an Angel.

Award-winning actress Sigourney Weaver will have her first foray into series television as star of USA Network’s original drama series Political Animals. Scheduled to debut this summer, Political Animals is about divorced First Lady Elaine Barrish (Weaver) and newly-appointed Secretary of State who becomes work obsessed after recovering from her dissolved marriage and losing the presidential nomination. Barrish relies heavily on her son Doug (James Wolk) who serves as her chief of staff. Brittany Ishibashi also stars as Doug’s fiance. The six-hour series is produced by Berlanti Productions and Laurence Mark Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television.
Executive producers Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, Kevin Harrison and Bill Thompson are partnering with A&E Network for the unscripted pilot Teamsters (wt). The pilot highlights Teamsters Local 25 in Boston and will offer viewers an up close look at the well-known union based in the City of Brotherly Love that has 11,000 members. Teamsters is produced by Closest to the Hole Productions, Leverage Management and Transition Productions.
Former Torchwood star John Barrowman was tapped to star in ABC’s period drama pilot Gilded Lilys. Barrowman will play Julius Ashford Lily, the charming son of the Lily family who owns the first luxury hotel in New York City in 1895.
Keri Russell will next star in the FX drama pilot The Americans from Joe Weisberg. The plot is about the complex arranged marriage of two KGB spies posing as Americans in suburban Washington, D.C. in the early 1980s. Russell will star as the wife Elizabeth Jennings though her character’s husband Phillip has not yet been cast.

Tuesday A18-49 Analysis: FOX launched its new comedy block and won Tuesday with a 2.1/6 A18-49, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. At 8p, a repeat of NCIS on CBS did best at 2.4/7 and the average of FOX’s comedies Raising Hope and I Hate My Teenage Daughter and NBC’s The Biggest Loser tied for #2 at 1.9/5 each (the debut of I Hate My Teenage Daughter delivered a 1.6/4 at 830p). FOX moved up to first place during 9p with New Girl and Breaking In at an average of 2.4/6 (the premiere of Breaking In posted a 1.7/4 at 930p) with NBC’s The Biggest Loser flipping into second place at 2.2/6. Univision’s La Que No Podia Amar won at 10p with a 1.6/4 and CBS’ Unforgettable encore was next at 1.4/4.

Veteran TV executive Sarah Tomassi Lindman was hired by Oxygen Media as SVP/Program Strategy, effective immediately.
