NBC has picked up U.S. broadcasting rights to Crossing Lines, a crime drama from Criminal Minds producers Bernero Productions and Tandem Communications. The series,which stars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland and Marc Lavoine, focuses on a special unit of investigators working with the International Criminal Court to hunt down global criminals and bring them to justice. The show will join NBC’s summer schedule.
Jane Espenson, consulting producer of Once Upon a Time, and Zack Estrin, executive producer of Zero Hour, have inked multiple-year overall deals with ABC Studios. The duo will work on the Once Upon a Time spinoff. Espensen will be consulting producer, while Estrin will serve as executive producer.
The Talk commemorates the 40th anniversary of CBS‘ The Young and the Restless with a special episode airing Monday, March 25 at 2p. The show will feature cast members Peter Bergman (Jack), Joshua Morrow (Nicholas), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki), Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) and Kristoff St. John (Neil) discussing memorable on camera and behind-the-scenes moments. After the live show, the actors will participate in a web exclusive 20 minute Q&A with the studio audience at www.thetalk.com and other CBS sites.
FCC commissioner Robert McDowell announced that he is resigning his post in a few weeks at the FCC’s public meeting on Wednesday. The longest-serving current commissioner, McDowell was first appointed in 2006. When his term ended in 2009, he was renominated by President Obama and reappointed for a new, five-year term. McDowell says he has no future plans at this time.
CBS has renewed CSI for the 2013-14 season and extended star Ted Danson‘s contract. Elisabeth Shue and original cast members George Eads, Jorja Fox, Eric Szmanda, Paul Guilfoyle and Robert David Hall, as well as Wallace Langham, Elisabeth Harnois, David Berman and Jon Wellner will also return. CSI is in its 13th season.
Hot in Cleveland will be back for a fifth season. TV Land has ordered 24 new episodes of the comedy series starring Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick, and Betty White.
Univision Communications Inc. has announced a comprehensive multi-year agreement with DIRECTV. The deal includes carriage of Univision’s owned and operated broadcast stations, as well as the network feeds for Univision and UniMas and the leading Spanish-language cable network, Galavision. In addition, DIRECTV will launch Univision Deportes Network, Univision telenovelas, and ForoTV, the round-the-clock cable news network. DIRECTV customers will also have access to Univision’s content on their PC, tablet and mobile devices, through the DIRECTV Everywhere platform and UVideos, the bilingual digital network for Hispanic America.
Stand-up comedian and actor Cedric “The Entertainer” has been named the new host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. He will join the long-running game show this fall, when it begins its 12th season in national syndication. Cedric replaces Meredith Vieira, who launched the weekday version of the game show in 2002 and remained host for 11 seasons.

Leftfield Pictures has acquired Sirens Media, producer of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New Jersey, and formed a new umbrella company, Leftfield Entertainment. Sirens Media currently has nine series in production for Discovery ID, including Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry? and Deadly Affairs.
Bloomberg Media Group and El Financiero have joined forces to launch a multi-platform, Spanish-language business news service. The companies will create a high-definition television channel that combines Bloomberg’s global business and financial content with locally produced material. The service will be offered in Mexico and Central America. The companies also plan to offer content online, on mobile sites and in print with a co-branded section in El Financiero newspaper.
Shaftesbury has announced that its comedy series Good God has been acquired by Foxtel‘s The Comedy Channel in Australia. The show will premiere on March 27.
Discovery Channel‘s Fast ‘N Loud hit a series high as the #1 cable program among men 25-54 and men 18-49 delivery (excluding sports) on Monday, March 18th. The show earned a 1.55 HH/1.28 P25-54 and delivered 2.15 million total viewers P2+, marking the show’s highest rated episode-to-date in multiple key demos.

Tuesday A18-49 Analysis: CBS led among A18-49 viewers on Tuesday with a 2.6/8, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. The network began the night on top at 8p with NCIS at 3.2/10 and ABC’s premiere of Splash followed at 2.6/8. At 9p CBS’ NCIS: Los Angeles held onto the lead at 2.9/8, while FOX’s New Girl came in at 2.3/6 and ABC’s DWTS: Exclusive First Look had a 2.1/6. CBS closed the night in the #1 spot at 10p with Golden Boy at 1.7/5. Univision’s Amor Bravio ranked next at 1.6/5, and ABC’s Body of Proof was a close third at 1.5/4.

Denis Horgan has been named Executive Producer of MSNBC‘s new Chris Hayes program, which debuts Monday, April 1 at 8 p. on MSNBC. Horgan, who joined MSNBC in 2003 as Senior Producer of Countdown with Keith Olbermann, has helped with the creation and development of programs including The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell and UP with Chris Hayes. He also played a key creative role in the development of MSNBC’s digital strategy.
E! and Esquire Network have named David Gleason Senior Vice President, Research, Gleason will oversee all research for the companies, spearheading efforts across all platforms, and will be responsible for research that affects all areas of their businesses, including on-air, consumer, ad sales, scheduling, acquisitions, development, new media and branding. Gleason previously served as Senior Vice President and head of research at OWN.
Gary Carter is joining Shine Group in the newly-created role of Chairman of Northern European operations and head of Shine’s off-air ancillary division Shine 360. Carter, former Chief Operating Officer at FremantleMedia, will oversee Shine’s production operations in Germany and Scandinavia and oversee strategy at Shine 360. Carter was previously Executive Director of Program Affairs at Endemol International where he oversaw the international launch of Big Brother. In addition, while head of the Los Angeles office of Planet 24, he was behind the international launch of Survivor.
