Two notes about the ABC schedule – we don’t have the start date for Boston Legal yet, and 20/20 will move to 8p on Fridays.  Oh, and for you LOST fans, Michael is coming back this season!  LOST returns to the ABC primetime schedule in January.

The commercial-free premiere episode of Damages starring Glenn Close on FX Tuesday evening drew in 3.7 million viewers, making it the #1 basic cable show of the night. In the all-important A18-49 demo, Damages had 1.2 million viewers.

USA Network has picked up the cable rights to Warner Bros.’ Ocean’s Thirteen, packaged together with License to Wed and Blood Diamond. Ocean’s Thirteen goes to USA in January 2010 when it begins its 4-1/2 year term.  License to Wed window begins for USA in December 2009, and Blood Diamond in May 2009, and both of those titles are for 4 year terms.

For those of you who became embroiled in the family life of meerkats in the Kalahari Desert, Animal Planet will launch a new season of Meerkat Manor with 13 episodes on August 10 at 830p. Fans can get a virtual sneak peak of the premiere episode online at animal.discovery.com on August 3. The series is produced for Animal Planet International by Oxford Scientific Films.

The Weather Channel will present new episodes of Forecast Earth: This Week, its weekly program focused on global climate change, starting Saturday at 5p. TWC has made additions to the show such as Eco Briefs and The Green Scene segments and new elements to the web site to make it more interactive-friendly, including a weekly blog from host Dr. Heidi Cullen.

The CW will air the reality program Schooled on August 5 at 8p that was developed by retailer Officemax. Students at New Milford High School in New Jersey were tricked into thinking their school music department was going to be cut and over the summer hidden cameras watched as the kids desperately worked to save the music program. Once the hoax was revealed the kids were treated to a live concert by the rock band The All American Rejects and Officemax awarded each student with prizes and the school with new laptop computers and a $60,000 gift card. Officemax also partnered with Google to air behind-the-scenes footage.

IFC will premiere the return of its two original half-hour programs on August 5: The Business starts up again at 11p with eight new episodes about an indie film company that tries to handle their surprise success. And, The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman follows at 1130p with a new season of eight episodes that follows two thirtysomething women trying to make it big in the Hollywood movie industry.

Season two of The Clubhouse, the weekly first run syndicated series distributed by Mark Anthony Entertainment, spotlights golf and entertainment, and kicks off September 3 with 26 original episodes. The new season will feature host James Brown teeing off with celebrities like The Gatlin Brothers and Alan Thicke as well as offering tips and techniques, golf destinations and new products. The Clubhouse is currently available to 30 million homes via local television stations and cable networks and is produced by Salt Lake Studios. The show is available on a straight barter basis.
