Oxygen Media expands its true-crime original programming franchise Snapped with the new series Snapped: Killer Couples. The new series spotlights couples whose passion drives them to commit criminal acts. Oxygen also has set the 200th episode of Snapped, which profiles cases of women accused of murder, to air Sunday, March 10 at 9p. The series launch of Snapped: Killer Couples follows the same night at 10p as part of Oxygen’s true crime Sunday night lineup. Snapped and Snapped: Killer Couples are produced by Jupiter Entertainment.
The premiere date for MTV’s new docu-series Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life has been set for Tuesday, April 23 at 11p. The series will also air on MTV’s international channels starting this spring.
Veria Living has three new original series in production which are slated to premiere this spring. Got Zen? with 39 half-hour episodes premieres Saturday, April 6 at 8a offering relaxation techniques hosted by Bex Borucki. New exercise series Workout from Within with Jeff Halevy with 52 half-hour episodes debuts Thursday, April 25 at 730p. Then later in June, Naturally Beautiful opens with 39 one-hour episodes features certified life-coach Nitika Chopra.
Outside Television and global media company Red Bull Media House have expanded their current programming partnership with two new original series: eXplorers Adventures of the Century and Momentum What Drives You. eXplorers joins Outside Television’s lineup this Friday and Momentum will launch in mid-March.
After 28 seasons, MTV’s The Real World heads to Portland, Oregon for the next new season where eight strangers will live together in the trendy Pearl District. The Real World: Portland debuts Wednesday, March 27 at 10p.
truTV is giving its series Impractical Jokers ten additional episodes for its current second season which airs on Thursdays at 10p. The network also gave eight more episodes to Hardcore Pawn: Chicago which will airs its first mid-season finale episode next Tuesday at 10p. To date in its second season, Impractical Jokers is averaging 1.8 million viewers and delivered its biggest audience yet with more than 2 million viewers on February 7. Hardcore Pawn: Chicago debuted January 1 with more than 2.1 million viewers making it truTV’s biggest series launch ever.

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network acquired the first 45 episodes of Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse that originally aired on TBS. Bolstering its relationship with Perry, OWN will additionally produce a third season of the series. The original cast including Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Crystle Stewart, Kent Faulcon, Kiki Haynes and Jason Olive will return and production begins on season three this April in Atlanta.
Entertainment One (eOne) is strengthening its relationship with Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Michelle Williams by producing a new reality series through its television division based on Williams’ life titled My Sister’s Keeper.
Veria Living announced a new distribution deal that will bring its content to viewers in Chicago. Starting yesterday, the complete 24/7 Veria Living programming line-up will air on KM Communications, Inc.’s WOCK-CD Channel 13.3 and Veria Living will also be via Chicago Comcast.

Saturday A18-49 Analysis: FOX raced to the finish line first Saturday winning with the A18-49 viewers at 1.4/5, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. At 8p, FOX’s NASCAR race won at 1.4/5 while a four-way tie occurred for second place between ABC’s Movie of the Week, CBS’ Crimetime Saturday repeat, NBC’s American Ninja Warrior and Univision’s Sabado Gigante at 0.6/2 each. FOX paced ahead of the competition through 9p with more of its NASCAR Sprint Unlimited at 1.5/5 and a three-way tie for #2 was shared by ABC’s movie, CBS’ second Crimetime Saturday encore and Univision’s Sabado Gigante at 0.7/2 apiece. Then at 10p, CBS’ 48 Hours did best at 0.9/3 and ABC’s movie came in second by itself at 0.8/2.

Sunday A18-49 Analysis: FOX tucked in a win Sunday despite close competition at 1.7/5 A18-49, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. Starting out, ABC’s won the 7p hour with America’s Funniest Home Videos at 1.5/4 followed by CBS’ 60 Minutes at 1.3/4. CBS was #1 at 8p with the season premiere of The Amazing Race at 2.5/6 though ABC’s Once Upon a Time was a close second at 2.4/6. FOX won during 9p with the average of animated comedies Family Guy and American Dad at a 2.2/6 and ABC’s Revenge next at 1.8/4. At 10p, NBC secured the final win with its SNL repeat special at 1.6/5 though CBS’ The Mentalist was right on its heels at 1.6/4.

CBS had the advantage through 9p with more sitcoms, this time 2 Broke Girls and Mike & Molly won at an average of 3.4/9 and ABC’s The Bachelor remained second best at 3.2/8. Rachelle Considine advances to the role of President at Future US where she will oversee the company and be a member of its global management board. In her new role, Considine will continue to streamline Future’s U.S. and U.K. operations to attract a wider more engaged global audience base.
Rani Raad was named EVP and Chief Commercial Officer for CNN International. Raad will be in charge of the commercial strategy and vision of CNN International will oversee its advertising sales, content sales, business development, international research and marketing efforts among other duties.
Screenvision continues to bolster their sales and marketing teams by adding four new executives: Katy Loria joins as SVP/National Sales and Lisa O’Keefe as AE. Matt Arden also comes aboard as VP/Creative Director as well as Darren Finnie as VP/Ad Sales Marketing.
Kristie Moomey was elevated to VP/Post Production Unscripted Programming and Digital Extensions for TNT and TBS. Moomey will supervise all post-production activities on the network’s roster of unscripted series in addition to all post production on digital programming on both networks. She is based in Los Angeles and reports to Ron Binkowski, VP/Post Production for TNT and TBS.
Hispanic entertainment cable network mun2 named Margie Moreno to the newly-minted position of VP/Programming. Moreno will be based at the network’s offices in Universal City/Los Angeles and reports to Diana Mogollon, General Manager.
Multi-media development, production and distribution studio RadioactiveGiant established a new division, RG360 and has invited Cynthia Burnett to head this new unit as VP/Worldwide Distribution. Burnett will also become a member of the senior management team at RadioactiveGiant.
Veria Living has appointed Jodi Chenoff Goldblatt to the newly-created role of Senior Manager of Advertising Sales, effective immediately. Based at company headquarters in New York, Goldblatt will report to David Cooper, SVP and Head/Advertising Sales for Veria Living.
Recently announced new network Esquire Network tapped Deena Stern as Head/Marketing to oversee marketing and strategic planning for on-air, off-air, digital and ad sales solutions. Additionally, Esquire Network is adding Katherine Nelson as Head/Communications to manage all corporate communications and program publicity for the network as well as devising all communications strategy. Both will report to Esquire Network GM Adam Stotsky.
Beginning next Monday, Tim Collison takes on the new position as Global Communications Director at ZenithOptimedia Group. Collison will have responsibility over driving internal and external marketing and communications programs for the company internationally and will work to establish best practice communications strategies. Collison reports to Belinda Rowe.
