The X Factor on FOX is gaining an extra hour in primetime. The network will air a one-hour encore from the second season on Friday nights beginning September 28 for three consecutive weeks. Kitchen Nightmares in the 8p slot will be rescheduled for later in the season.
For the first time, the season premiere of FOX’s Raising Hope is now available for viewing via Twitter’s page at www.twitter.com/raisinghopfox. Raising Hope has the distinction of being the first-ever TV series to offer a full episode on Twitter. Now through this Thursday at 1159p, viewers can watch the season premiere prior to its on-air debut by following @RaisingHopeFOX which will tweet an exclusive link to the episode. The season three debut of Raising Hope is also available on FOX On Demand, FOX.com, Hulu.com and Facebook.com/RaisingHope through this Thursday at 1159p. Raising Hope debuts October 2 at 8p on FOX.
Netflix confirmed that as of last Friday numerous shows from A&E Networks have disappeared from its streaming service. The deal gave Netflix the right to stream shows such as Storage Wars, Pawn Stars, Hoarders, American Pickers and more. Approximately 800 hours of content is gone from A&E and HISTORY. Reports indicate Netflix has been in negotiations with A&E though the two entities have not reached an agreement.
Military Channel is premiering new series with early previews during a week-long stunt called Red Hot & New Week from October 15-20. The programs include The Brokaw Files, sneak peak airing October 15 at 10p with the series continuing on Tuesdays at 10p; Secrets Of . . . sneak peak airing on October 16 at 10p with more episodes airing on Tuesdays starting December 4 at 9p; Combat Countdown series premiering October 17 at 9p; a new episode of Black Ops airing October 17 at 10p; Commander in Chief: Inside the Oval Office sneak peak premiering October 18 at 10p with the series continuing on Tuesdays starting November 13 at 9p; and An Officer and a Movie airing Red Dawn encores October 19 from 8-11p with a sneak peak of Triggers season two Missing in Action premiering October 20 from 8-1030p.
HBO’s Treme will be back for a fourth and final season. Season three debuted last night.
Travel adventure series Stanley on the Go debuts a new season this Thursday on RLTV at 9p. Stanley Siegel hosts the series as he seeks new adventures while crisscrossing the globe. In the new season, Siegel travels to Bangkok, New York City, Bali, Grand Cayman and more.
This week, TNT launches the drama Castle starring Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic starting on Wednesday. Beginning at noon, TNT will present eight back-to-back Castle episodes from the series’ first four seasons. Then at 8p on Wednesday, TNT will launch the series from the beginning with the first three episodes. Starting October 3, Castle will air in its regular time slot on Wednesdays from noon to 6p and primetime episodes from 8-11p.
Lifetime renewed its longtime drama Army Wives for a seventh season comprised of 13 episodes for 2013. For its sixth season which concluded on September 9, Army Wives averaged 3.2 million total viewers.
A second season is on tap for Secretly Pregnant as Discovery Fit & Health renewed the series, reports THR. The network handed the series a six-episode order with each one-hour episode spotlighting two women’s stories. The new season will debut October 11 at 10p. Secretly Pregnant is produced for the network by Gigantic! Productions.

Mance Media and Toronto-based Microtainment Plus Productions Inc. have jointly entered into an agreement for Mance Media to distribute two non-scripted series worldwide beginning with MIPCOM on October 8. The programs are Zoo Diaries with 74 half-hour episodes and Urban Angels with 13 half-hour episodes.
Breakthrough Entertainment has launched a new home entertainment division as an online direct-to-consumer distributor at BreakthroughHomeEntertainment.com. Nat Abraham, President/Distribution will be the executive in charge of the company’s newest division. Breakthrough Home Entertainment launches with three of the company’s titles, the scripted comedy series Less Than Kind, the CGI documentary series Greatest Tank Battles and Battlefield Mysteries.

Ben Stiller is working on a single-camera comedy titled Please Knock loosely based on his own life for ABC to be produced through his Red Hour Films. Kevin Napier is involved as writer and executive producer along with Red Hour’s Stuart Cornfeld, Debbie Liebling and Stiller. ABC Studios will be producing, where Stiller and his Red Hour company forged an overall development deal in November.
FOX gave a put-pilot with series penalty deal to Seth MacFarlane for a live-action comedy from MacFarlane and the writers behind the movie Ted. The untitled live-action project will be written and executive produced by Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild along with MacFarlane who also serves as EP. 20th Television is producing.
In other FOX news, the network is pushing ahead with its new reality series Does Someone Have To Go? where companies must decide whether or not to fire an employee. The hour-long series episodes will watch as a dysfunctional company will task employees with deciding if someone should be dismissed or not. A series order for the project is expected.
The Weather Channel Companies (TWCC) has approved Prospectors (wt) about a group of miners in search of the rarest gems in order to get rich. High Noon Entertainment will produce Prospectors with 9 half-hour episodes slated to premiere in 2013.

Thursday A18-49 Analysis: FOX led the pack Thursday among A18-49 with a 3.2/9, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. FOX’s The X Factor wowed the A18-49 demo winning with a 3.5/11 followed by double The Big Bang Theory reruns on CBS at an average of 2.3/7. Also this hour, a new season of Up All Night debuted on NBC at 1.3/4 at 830p. FOX had a second win at 9p as Glee delivered a 2.9/8 while the average of the season premieres of The Office and Parks and Recreation and Univision’s Abismo de Pasion tied for #1 at 1.9/5 each and back-to-back Two and a Half Men repeats averaged a 1.8/5 in third place (The Office posted a 2.1/6 and Parks and Recreation delivered a 1.7/5). At 10p, CBS’ Person of Interest encore did best at 1.3/4 while NBC’s Rock Center with Brian Williams and Univision’s Noticias Univision Presenta… shared #2 at 1.1/3 apiece.
