CBS has pulled Smith from the schedule – and filling the Tuesday 10p time period will be repeats of CSI for one week, Criminal Minds for the next two weeks. No word yet on how the network will fill the time period in November.

Thursday – A18-49 Analysis: ABC held onto the top position Thursday night with a 5.8/15 A18-49, according to fast affiliate ratings from Nielsen Media Research. Not far behind was CBS at 5.5/15, and then NBC 4.4/12, CW 1.8/5, FOX 1.7/4, UNIV 1.5/4 and TELE 0.5/1. It was CBS’ hour at 8p as Survivor: Cook Islands came in first at 5.6/16; ABC’s Ugly Betty came in second at 4.4/13. During 9p, ABC was two full ratings points ahead with Grey’s Anatomy at 9.2/23; CBS’ CSI was next at 7.2/18. Then at 10p, NBC took the final hour as ER was #1 at 6.0/16.

CW 2.4/4 Smallville 2.8/4, Supernatural 1.9/3
Friday – A18-49 Analysis: CBS overcame the competition to win Friday night with 2.9/9 A18-49, according to fast affiliate ratings from Nielsen Media Research. NBC was next at 2.7/9, and then ABC 2.0/6, FOX 1.6/5, UNIV 1.4/5, CW 1.4/4 and TELE 0.4/1. All night it was a close contentious battle between CBS and NBC, with CBS succeeding in winning each hour, albeit narrowly. At 8p, CBS prevailed with Ghost Whisperer at 2.8/10, just ahead of NBC’s Deal or No Deal at 2.7/9. CBS’ Close to Home eked a win at 9p with 2.9/9, just a tenth of a rating point more than NBC’s Dateline at 2.8/9. Then in the final hour, CBS’ Numb3rs delivered a 2.9/9 to beat out NBC’s second place Law & Order at 2.7/8.
