Beginning next month, TLC reunites with the Roloff family in an all-new weekly series, Little People Big World: Wedding Farm, airing on Tuesdays at 9p starting November 13. In six one-hour episodes, the series follows Matt and Amy as they operate a new wedding venue on their recently expanded Oregon farm. Little People Big World: Wedding Farm is produced for TLC by Gay Rosenthal Productions.
Oxygen Media, for its upcoming modeling competition series The Face slated to premiere in first quarter 2013, has forged a multi-media partnership with US beauty retailer ULTA Beauty. The Face, hosted by photographer Nigel Barker features supermodel coaches Naomi Campbell, Karolina Kurkova and Coco Rocha as they compete to find the newest face of ULTA Beauty. The winner of the series will receive, courtesy of ULTA Beauty a grand prize of becoming spokesperson and ambassador for the brand’s Fall and Holiday 2013 national ad campaigns among other exposure through the retailer. The Face is produced by Shine America.
Programming Note: Today at 9a, Discovery News is airing live the Red Bull Stratos skydive mission from Roswell, New Mexico. In conjunction with Discovery Channel and Velocity, Discovery News will broadcast live Felix Baumgartner’s jump from 120,000 feet, the highest altitude jump since a record was set more than 52 years ago.

A+E Networks and A+E Networks UK have approved the UK production of HISTORY’s series Pawn Stars. Leftfield Pictures, producers of Pawn Stars will produce Pawn Stars UK (wt), the first international format of the franchise. International HISTORY channels are also funding the project. Production will begin on the UK version with eight one-hour episodes in fourth quarter 2012 and the series will contain similar elements as Pawn Stars US though will be adapted for an international audience. For example, Pawn Stars UK (wt) will feature British items that have historical value and heritage. The series will air on HISTORY worldwide.
Just before MIPCOM, Gaumont International Television (GTI), the production and distribution studio based in Los Angeles and part of Gaumont, finalized three new sales for its 13-episode series Hannibal. The sales include France’s Canal+ for Pay-TV, Canada’s City TV for Free-TV and Nordisk in Scandinavia for a DVD deal. Hannibal will air on NBC in the US.
The Gurin Company offers up two classic game show formats at MIPCOM, Truth or Consequences from Ralph Edwards Productions which ran for 38 years and Treasure Hunt from Wink Martindale, Mark Maxwell-Smith and John Ricci Jr. which was on the air in the 1950s, 1970s and 1980s. Truth or Consequences will be available for licensing in the US and Canada while Treasure Hunt is available in all territories. Gurin is also making the new UK series Cleverdicks from Splash Media available for global distribution for the first time.
Veria Living Worldwide is offering the rights to the formats Fat Family Rescue and Ambush Make Under to international broadcasters for the first time at MIPCOM.
An unscripted celebrity diving series was picked up by ABC. The reality competition series is based on the Netherlands format Celebrity Splash with Eyeworks USA (previously 3 Ball Productions) behind the production. The series watches as celebrities perform complicated dives from varying heights with the help of a professional diving instructor.
NBC is close to completing a deal to adapt the Australian miniseries The Slap with Brothers & Sisters creator Jon Robin Baitz involved as writer. The Australian series ran in 2011 and was based on the 2008 book by Christos Tsiolkas which examines the consequences when a man slaps a child unrelated to him at a family gathering. Each installment of the eight-episode series told the story from a different point of view. NBC’s adaptation is from Universal Television and Australia’s Matchbox Pictures, the company behind the original series. Baitz and Matchbox’s Tony Ayres will serve as EPs along with Universal TV’s Walter Parkes, Laurie MacDonald and Ted Gold.
In other NBC news, the network ordered a script plus penalty for an oddball brother comedy from Chris McKenna (The Mindy Project). The project is about a large family, where the mother has passed away a long time ago and the children span in ages from 15 to 30-plus. When the family’s father dies, the oldest of the siblings, the family’s black sheep, moves back to become the guardian of his youngest siblings. McKenna, who made a two-year overall deal with Universal Television this spring, will write and executive produce with Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplain on board as EPs through their Universal TV-based TBD Productions.
CBS handed script orders to a half-hour comedy based on the 2011 Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake film Bad Teacher, reports THR. The project is from Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, the screenwriters behind the Columbia Pictures feature. Hilary Winston will pen the script and also executive produce the single-camera comedy with Stupnitsky and Eisenberg for Sony Pictures Television and the film’s Mosaic Media Group.
BSTV is a new development and production company specializing in lifestyle programming and founded by former Food Network executive Beth Burke and HGTV showrunner Blake Swerdloff. The pair is developing and producing programs based around well-known on-air talent. This fall, BSTV has two lifestyle shows: Sandra’s Restaurant Remakes airing on Food Network and two special episodes of Quest For The Fresh with Claire Robinson.
Casting Call: Electus and 5×5 Media are launching a seven-city US casting call for TNT’s upcoming competition series The Hero hosted and executive produced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The producers are looking for competitors who have the physical, mental and emotional strength to participate in a battle of brains, brawn and morality. TNT ordered eight episodes and will roll out The Hero in summer 2013. The Hero casting calls will take place in Los Angeles on October 13; Boston, Dallas and Chicago on October 20; New York and Nashville on October 27; and Minneapolis on November 3. Thursday A18-49 Analysis: CBS led Thursday with a 3.3/9 among A18-49, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. At 8p, CBS’ comedies The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men won with an average of 4.3/14 and FOX’s The X Factor was next at 3.2/10 and ABC’s Last Resort was third at 1.9/6. Also this hour, NBC premiered a new season of 30 Rock at 8p that delivered a 1.4/4. ABC moved in and won the 9p hour with Grey’s Anatomy at 3.8/10 and CBS was second with Person of Interest at 3.0/8 and FOX’s Glee was third at 2.6/7. Univision Communications Inc. has restructured its sales team which is part of an ongoing effort by Univision to maintain and strengthen its relationships with its current client base and to open channels to attract new business and expand its client roster. As a result, Univision appointed Steve Mandala as EVP/Advertising Sales. Steve will manage Univision’s Client Development Group along with Sports Sales and Direct Response advertising.
