Destined to Happen: It’s been reported that FOX‘s The X Factor is firming up a deal to bring former Destiny Child star Kelly Rowland on board. Rowland served as a judge on the eighth season of the UK version of the show. The official announcement is slated to be made today, as the series begins production tomorrow in Charleston, South Carolina. Rowland would join executive producer Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato on The X Factor panel. As for the fourth and final judge, Latin singer-actress Paulina Rubio is rumored to be in talks for the position.
CBS‘ Mike & Molly is undergoing a major change behind the scenes. Mark Roberts, who served as the creator and showrunnner for the comedy’s first three seasons, is stepping down to focus on other projects. He’ll be replaced by current co-executive producer Al Higgins, who has been named executive producer and will serve as the series’ showrunner for its upcoming fourth season. CBS ordered 22 episodes season of the comedy.

The final un-aired episodes of ABC‘s Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 are now available in their entirety on Watch ABC on ABC.com, the Watch ABC Player for iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and Kindle Fire, Hulu and iTunes. The episodes will be live through June 2, 2013. The origin of Chloe’s evil ways is revealed in the final episode featuring Richard Dean Anderson and Latin singer/actress Charo, who appear as themselves.
New York mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment Commissioner Katherine L. Oliver will host the eighth annual Made in NY Awards on Monday, June 10 at 7:30p at Gracie Mansion. The awards are given annually to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to various fields in the City’s entertainment and digital media industries. The 2013 Made in NY honorees include: Tony and Olivier Award-winning actor Alan Cumming; Project Runway host and executive producer Heidi Klum; director Spike Lee; singer and actress Audra McDonald; President of HBO Documentary Films Sheila Nevins; NYC-based blogging platform and social networking website Tumblr; and Harvey and Bob Weinstein, founders of The Weinstein Company and Miramax Films. This year’s Made in NY Mayor’s Award for Lifetime Achievement will be presented to Emmy Award-winning television host and broadcast journalist Barbara Walters.

Syfy has given a six-episode fifth and final season order to its long-running flagship series Warehouse 13. The show, from Universal Cable Productions, will begin filming in Toronto this summer to return in 2014.
BBC hit Doctor Who is returning for an eighth season. The network announced the news just as the show’s season seven finale aired. A 50th anniversary special of the sci-fi series is slated to air on Saturday, November 23.
YouTube breakout star Ray William Johnson is heading to television. According to The Hollywood Reporter, FX has given a script commitment to a comedy inspired by the life of the Internet sensation. Johnson stars on the online comedy series =3.
Andy Garcia has joined the cast of FOX‘s Let’s Be Cops. The action comedy series stars Damon Wayans Jr. and Jake Johnson as two friends who impersonate police officers using rented uniforms. Garcia will play a seasoned detective who becomes the pair’s boss.
Mom’s the word moving forward on How I Met Your Mother. Cristin Milioti, who was revealed as the never-before-seen mother on the CBS show’s season finale will be getting more screen time on the show. Milioti has been upped to a series regular, when the series resumes for its ninth and final season.

CBS led at 8p with The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men combining for a 4.0/14, followed by FOX’s American Idol at 3.2/11. FOX took over the lead at 9p with American Idol at 4.0/11. ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy placed second at 3.1/9, followed by NBC’s The Office at 3.0/8. At 10p, ABC’s Scandal was #1 at 3.2/9. CBS’ Elementary trailed at 2.0/5.

Nadine Nohr has been named the permanent CEO of Shine International. Nohr, who has been a consultant to Shine International since 2010, originally accepted the position on a yearlong basis in September 2012.
Michael J. Hayes, formerly President and General Manager at Hearst Television’s WTAE-TV, the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, PA, has been named Senior Vice President and Group Head of Hearst Television Inc. In his new role, Hayes will share oversight responsibilities for a portfolio of the company’s 29 television stations with Frank Biancuzzo, also a Hearst Television senior vice president and group head. Hayes’ promotion is effective June 1.
Scripps Networks Interactive has promoted two members of its programming team for home category brands, HGTV and DIY Network. Steven Lerner, who has been with SNI for six years, has been elevated to Senior Vice President of Programming and Production and will oversee the programming efforts at HGTV and DIY Network, as well as lead the New York and Knoxville-based programming teams. Freddy James, a 16-year veteran of SNI programming and production, has been upped to Senior Vice President, Strategic Development and Program Integration. James, who leads the Program Integration Team staff in New York and Knoxville, will expand his role in content strategy development around integration, digital convergent content and creating co-branded opportunities with media entities like HGTV Magazine and others.
