~ PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT ~

Mark Burnett (Survivor), Michael Davies (The Glee Project) and James Sunderland (America’s Got Talent) are on board as EPs for a CBS unscripted pilot where contestants will compete for their dream job.  Lisa Ling will host The Job produced by Embassy Row and Sony Pictures Television.

Production has begun on A&E Network’s upcoming original real-life series Barter Kings.  The series highlights teams of entrepreneurs as they pursue items they want by trading other items they currently own.  Cash is never exchanged in these transactions and the barterers, who know the current market well, will trade multiple times to get the object they want.  A&E ordered 13 half-hour episodes and will bow the series this summer.  Barter Kings is produced by Brownstone Entertainment for A&E.

Season four of MTV’s Teen Mom will the last to feature Maci Bookout, Farrah Abraham, Catelynn Lowell and Amber Portwood, per a statement from the network to Us Weekly.  The fourth season of Teen Mom is expected to debut this summer.

New fall drama Widow Detective for CBS selected John Corbett to star as the lead.  Corbett will play a decorated police detective who becomes a surrogate husband, lover and father to families of partners who died while on duty.  The drama is from Carol Mendelsohn, and writer David Hubbard who will be EPs with Julie Weitz.  Corbett most recently appeared on NBC’s Parenthood.

Former stand-up comedian and SNL cast member Dennis Miller was tagged for ABC’s comedy pilot Awesometown which also stars Ben Rappaport.  The ensemble comedy is about four young professionals who work and live together in New York.  Miller will play Nelson Burke, the genius boss of Burke Architecture.  20th Television is producing.

Soap series Mistresses for ABC has cast Yunjin Kim (Lost). The series is a remake of the 2008-2010 British series of the same name about four women involved in scandalous romances and caught up in the secrecy, betrayal and complex relationships they have created.  Kim will play Karen, one of the four women along with the previously cast Rochelle Aytes and Jes Macallan.  ABC picked up the project straight to series in February and is targeting summer 2013 for its premiere.

FX’s one-hour drama pilot, The Americans from Joe Weisberg and Graham Yost added Matthew Rhys as the male lead opposite Keri Russell.  The period drama is set in the 1980s about two KGB spies, Phillip (Rhys) and Elizabeth (Russell) posing as an American couple in Washington, D.C.  Despite their arranged marriage, the couple’s relationship grows more passionate each day though is tested by the escalation of the Cold War.  Rhys last starred in ABC’s Brothers & Sisters.

Worldwide syndicated radio co-host Ellen K of On Air with Ryan Seacrest was selected as the narrator for TLC’s upcoming season of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and for the new series My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding.  The new season of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding showcases outrageous weddings and extravagant celebrations of gypsies and travellers living in the UK and debuts on TLC March 23 at 10p.  My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding will debut later this spring.  Both series are from Firecracker Films.  Ellen K is also the broadcast voice for The Grammy Awards, SAG Awards and American Music Awards among other events in addition to her nightly segment Inside Hollywood on KTLA/Los Angeles.
