~ MORE GOOD STUFF ~

2010 UPFRONT UPDATE: Late last week, both FOX and The CW said they concluded their upfront sales. FOX, the first network making deals starting on Tuesday, is said to have averaged a +9% rate increase over last year and sold around 80% of its ad inventory totaling $1.8 billion to $1.9 billion.  Reportedly, The CW has sold $350 to $370 million with a price bump of +7.5%. This year, The CW was focused on selling TV spots along with ads placed within its top shows when they air online. The volume for FOX was approximately 10% more than it booked last year and The CW is thought to have booked 75% more or higher than the previous year. ABC, CBS and NBC are also in the process of making deals.

HBO canceled the comedy The Life and Times of Tim from MRC and created by Steve Dildarian. MRC owns the show and is pitching it to other cable networks.

All this week, Hallmark Channel honors the late actress Rue McClanahan with A Tribute to Rue McClanahan consisting of twenty The Golden Girls episodes airing today through Friday at 9a-11a and 11p-1a.

USA Network premiered a duo of original shows with new seasons last Thursday to record-breaking results. Burn Notice, debuting its fourth season at 9p, delivered nearly 2.6 million A18-49 viewers, a +2% increase above the first quarter 2010 season opener and a +2% bump over the summer 2009 premiere. Then at 10p, the second season premiere of Royal Pains attracted nearly 2.4 million A18-49 viewers, a +3% increase over the series premiere as well as 5.8 million total viewers, a +5% rise versus the series premiere.

The finale episode amassed 1.76 million A18-49 viewers and a record 2.64 million total viewers, a +16% and a +30% increase respectively compared to the season two finale. This week and next, Bravo will reunite cast mates of The Real Housewives of New York City with a two-part special this Thursday at 9p and on June 17 at 9p.

Comedy Central’s second season premiere of Tosh.0 last Wednesday at 1030p, clocked its most-watched episode in the series’ history with 1.9 million total viewers as well as series high ratings among A18-49 at 1.23 and M18-34 at 2.42.
