The oustings continue at American Idol. Executive Producers Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick won’t be back at the FOX  series next season. “The passion and dedication that Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick brought to American Idol guided the show to become a true cultural phenomenon,” said FOX, Fremantle Media and 19 Entertainment in a statement. “While we are saddened they will no longer be executive producers on the show, we are grateful for their tremendous contributions and look forward to continuing to work with them on additional projects.” Lythgoe took to Twitter to note that he is still in business with the network on So You Think You Can Dance, where he serves as both executive producer and a judge. “Yes, don’t worry. I’m on #SYTYCD. Fox still loves me,” he posted via the handle @dizzyfeet. “It’s not a personal thing. They just feel IDOL needs new leadership after 12 seasons.”

CBS has wrapped up its Upfront deals, and sources say volume settled at about $2.65-2.7 billion, on par with its numbers from last year. Price increases were anywhere from 7.5-8.5% on a CPM basis.

There’s more celebrity dish on the way. E! will begin airing a one-hour daily entertainment news talk show Access Hollywood Live beginning Monday, June 10 at 3p. The show will focus on the latest Hollywood happenings, celebrity news, pop-culture and opinions. Billy Bush and Kit Hoover will serve as co-hosts.

BBC America is betting that its viewers will get all knotted up in its latest entry, Dangerman: The Incredible Mr. Goodwin. Like Harry Houdini and Evel Knievel, Jonathan Goodwin has a taste for danger and puts himself in the most extreme situations, from climbing buildings to getting buried alive. The new series premieres Monday, July 8 at 10p.

Things are about to get very awkward, as in the MTV series Awkward. The show’s season finale airs Tuesday, June 11 at 10p. Immediately following, at 10:30p, MTV will air a 30-minute after-show, offering a retrospective look at the third season. Then, on Tuesday, June 18 at 10p, the network will air the half-hour special Awkward’s Most Awkward Moments, featuring the show’s cast as they delve into the funniest lines, juiciest relationships and more from the last three seasons.

Leon Knoles (America’s Got Talent, Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew) has been tapped to direct the upcoming syndicated talker The Arsenio Hall Show. The show, from CBS Television Distribution, is slated to debut on September 9. “Leon Knoles knows live television, music and, more importantly, how I work which is an unbeatable combination in my opinion,” said Hall. “He has the sensibility as well as the experience to deliver the nightly entertainment we envision for the show. We’re lucky to have him on board.”

It’s happening, it’s cool, and it’s at the Time Warner Center in NYC. REGISTER for Cynopsis Digital’s Big Monetization Summit, which takes place on June 18.
