After 25 years with CBS News, Harry Smith is rumored to exit and join NBC News.  NBC is expected to make this news official today.  Smith will apparently join NBC’s upcoming primetime news show with Brian Williams as a correspondent.

The all-new version of original drama series Dallas has been approved by TNT.  Produced by Warner Horizon Television, the new Dallas brings a fresh generation of characters together centered on rivalries and intrigues within the powerful Ewing oil and cattle-ranch family dynasty.  TNT ordered 10 episodes slated to premiere in summer 2012.  A few of the original Dallas stars will reprise their roles including Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray and Larry Hagman returning as J.R. Ewing.  Members of the new cast include Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo and Brenda Strong.  Tonight, following the season debuts of TNT’s The Closer at 9p and Rizzoli & Isles at 10p, the network will offer viewers a sneak preview of the new Dallas series.  TNT also launched a Dallas fan website at www.dallastnt.com containing sneak peaks and behind-the-scenes footage.

Next month, FUEL TV opens its new original travel series, Drake’s Passage on August 15 at 10p.  The series will be slotted as part of the network’s Raging Mondays programming block.  From Red Bull Media House North America, Drake’s Passage escorts viewers to major cities around the globe, showing them off through the eyes of Drake McElroy, a professional freestyle motocross rider and judge of the Red Bull X-Fighters.
