The NBC broadcast of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade got its best rating in metered-market households in 11 years, averaging 13.5. In A18-49 the early rating was 7.2, a 10-year high. The net’s 12p-2p coverage of The National Dog Show Presented by Purina trotted off with a 6.0 metered-market household rating, its best since 2004.
Fans are choosing the tunes for Glee‘s 100th episode. Through December 3, viewers can play DJ on FOX.com/GleeksChoice and on Facebook to decide which 10 songs will be performed by New Directions on the milestone Tuesday, March 18 ep at 8p.
Esquire Network and Chivas Regal have teamed for branded series Brotherhood, on Esquire’s web site. The 12-parter about the lives of five men, including Saturday Night Live alum Jason Sudekis, features male bonding, with an assist from whiskey, in three-to-five minute segments.
Wonder Woman didn’t die – she moved to Me-TV. The 1975-1979 Lynda Carter superhero series joins the net’s Saturday night sci-fi line-up on December 28 at 8p. Lost in Space (Danger, Will Robinson!) moves to Saturday nights at 12a.
American Idol‘s first winner, Kelly Clarkson, who has performed and mentored talent on The Voice in the past, is returning to the NBC singing competition to perform a song from her new Christmas album, Wrapped in Red. Clarkson has said she is a fan of the show, airing Mondays at 8p and Tuesdays at 9p.
Behind-the-scenes talent gets its due at the Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards, set for February 15. Submissions close December 31, with nominees announced January 13. Details at local706.org.

While Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy host Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest in NYC’s Times Square, Fergie (Black Eyed Peas) returns to tend to the West Coast on Monday, December 31 at 10p. Performers on the ABC broadcast include Jennifer Hudson and Fall Out Boy.
It just took one episode to convince BBC America to pick up season two of Atlantis. The fantasy drama became the net’s highest-rated Supernatural Saturday series premiere on November 23, with 838,000 total viewers. Across the pond, the Urban Myth Films production is the biggest new Saturday night drama series to launch across all BBC channels since 2006. Atlantis airs Saturdays at 9p.
Melissa Ponzio (Walking Dead) will recur on Chicago Fire. The NBC drama airs Tuesdays at 10p.

BriteSpark Films announced its first international commission: a co-production with Saloon Media for Handsome Devils. Investigation Discovery picked up the docu-series about 10 notorious ladykillers in the U.S.; Slice ordered the fatal attraction tales to air in Canada.
Sherlock returns for its third season on U.K.’s BBC One Wednesday, January 1, 2014. The detective drama makes its way Stateside, to PBS, on Sunday, January 19.
Canada’s Super Channel will broadcast The Sheepdogs Have It, charting the journey of the rock band that went from touring in a broken van to making the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. The Farpoint Films documentary premieres Monday, December 16 at 8p.
Bounce TV announced another round of renewals and launches. Renewals include Gannett stations in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, nine Nextstar markets through 2017 and WDEF-TV in Chattanooga, TN. The African-American-focused net will also launch in markets including Syracuse, Fort Wayne and Kansas City, making it available in 72 percent of television homes in the U.S.

November sweeps 2013 is over, and the numbers are in. Here’s how the major nets fared versus last year (Fox’s numbers are skewed because World Series games were included in its averages last year):
CBS: 10.334 million viewers (flat), 2.2 A18-49 (-4 percent)
NBC: 8.232 million viewers (+4 percent), 2.6 A18-49 (-7percent)
ABC: 7.623 million viewers (-4 percent), 2.0 A18-49 (-9 percent)
FOX: 4.854 million viewers (-25 percent), 1.7 A18-49 (-26 percent)
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving was up over its T-Day broadcast last year by 33 percent in total viewers (5.3 million) and 45 percent in A18-49 (1.6/5) on ABC, according to preliminary numbers. The net’s Lady Gaga & The Muppets’ Holiday Spectacular averaged a less impressive .9 in A18-49 and 3.6 million viewers from 9:30p-11p, tying Fox’s puppet-themed Glee ep at 9p.
Hallmark Channel is on a winning streak with its “Countdown to Christmas” holiday movies. The Saturday, November 23 premiere of Window Wonderland was the number one cable program of the day, making Hallmark top in cable in the 8p-10p time period for HH (2,882,000), W25-54 (727,000) and P2+ (3,722,000) delivery. Sunday, November 24’s premiere of Fir Crazy was the number two cable program of the day, attracting nearly 5.6 million unduplicated viewers to the net.
Hallmark Movie Channel‘s first original holiday movie, Christmas with Tucker, delivered a 1.2 HH rating on Monday, November 25, making it the number one cable movie of the day among household rating, and the net’s most-watched original movie premiere among households and W25-54 delivery ever.
2013 has been a very good year for Investigation Discovery. “With one month left in 2013, ID is poised to have our best year ever in Prime and Total Day delivery among all of our key demos, including P2+ and W25-54,” Kevin Bennett, the net’s GM, tells Cynopsis. The success was bolstered by a number of series that are hitting a HH rating of a 1.0 or higher, including Homicide Hunter: Lt. Joe Kenda and Beauty Queen Murders.
Tuesday A18-49 Analysis: ABC and CBS grabbed the most A18-49 viewers Tuesday with 2.5/7, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. CBS won the 8p hour with a 3.0/9 rating for Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, followed by ABC’s 2.6/8 for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. NBC’s The Voice won at 9p with 3.0/8, versus 2.4/7 for CBS’s NCIS: Los Angeles. ABC’s Dancing with the Stars took 10p with 2.6/8, beating the 2.2/6 notched by CBS’s Person of Interest.

Mia Lane was appointed Head of Development at Comedy Central UK. Previously, Lane was Senior Entertainment Development Producer at Wall to Wall.
Fox International Channels named Helena Choe its Vice President of Syndication, and Rahul Sood its Vice President of Affiliate Sales and Commercial. Choe was previously Managing Director of the Hong Kong office of Sportive International. Rahul, who starts December 9, spent 10 years as the Head of Affiliate Sales and Network Distribution at NDTV.
Actor Tony Musante died on November 26 due to complications from surgery. He was 77. Musante played real-life detective on Toma (1973-74), and more recently played mob boss Nino Schibetta on Oz.
Actress Jane Kean died on November 26 after a taking a fall. She was 90. Kean’s long-running career included performances in the theater and films as well as on numerous TV shows, but she was perhaps best know for playing Trixie in the 1960s musical Honeymooners sketches on The Jackie Gleason Show.
British actress Jean Kent died on November 30 after suffering a fall. She was 92. In addition to film roles, Kent appeared on television shows including Sir Francis Drake and Thicker Than Water.
Televangelist Paul Crouch, founder of the Trinity Broadcasting Network, died November 30. He was 79. Before launching TBN in 1973, Crouch produced film and TV for the Assemblies of God.
