Good Morning. It’s Monday, April 3, 2006, and this is your first early morning briefing.
And the big news of the morning may be that Katie Couric will be moving to CBS. According to TV Week, an announcement is expected from NBC this week that Couric has made her decision to become the new anchor of the CBS Evening News. A word of caution here – there has been nothing official said by Couric, NBC or CBS. In fact, according to her contract, Couric isn’t even supposed to be talking with CBS until May 1, 30 days before the expiration of her current deal with NBC. And yet, the broadcast networks really prefer to have all of their T’s crossed and I’s dotted before appearing before the advertising community at the annual mid-May upfront presentations, so if there is something to be said, the likelihood is it will happen in April, and preparations for Couric’s replacement will kick in full gear so everything will be sewn up by the Upfront.

During each week’s episode contestants, vying for the $1.5 million cash prize, will talk directly to the camera in the Have It Your Way confessional, a chance to express their strategies and desires to win the money. Unan1mous will have further extension in the FOX produced Mobisodes, a series of 18 original shorts available via Sprint video phones and sponsored by Burger King. Within FOX.com the Unan1mous website will contain unique content from the show.
Starz Entertainment Group LLC (SEG) and Echostar Communications Corp. have renewed their affiliation agreement in a multi-year deal, allowing the carriage of SEG’s premium movie service on Echostar’s DISH Network. Details of the agreement were not disclosed.
