Comedy series How I Met Your Mother in off-net syndication will join the lineup on FX starting this fall. The series produced by 20th Century Fox Television currently runs in syndication on Lifetime which will continue running the show in reruns even while it debuts on FX. How I Met Your Mother also airs on broadcast television stations in syndication. CBS recently renewed How I Met Your Mother for two more seasons in March.
As of early last week, independent television station, WMOR-TV32 owned by Hearst Television changed its name to MOR and has also converted its broadcast platform to hi-def. MOR further will air its branding and promotions in hi-def. MOR airs a variety of sitcoms in syndication such as My Name Is Earl and several others in off-net syndication including The Office and How I Met Your Mother and starting this fall The Big Bang Theory and 30 Rock.
Si TV, which will re-launch on July 4 as nuvoTV, was added to Choice Cable TV’s expanded basic lineup under “Choice Pack.”
Amber Tamblyn will soon end her recurring role on FOX’s House and her next project keeps her at FOX, working with House executive producer Katie Jacobs. Tamblyn and Jacobs are partnering along with Ed Burns, co-creator of The Wire for a proposed drama series where Tamblyn will play a young teacher working in the public school system. The project has received a script commitment from FOX and will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television. Burns will write the script with Jacobs also directing.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Dina Manzo gains her own show on HGTV as the network commences production on a new weekly party planning series opening in September. Each episode follows Manzo and her staff at event company Design Affairs as they create extravagant events, from baby showers to graduation celebrations in client’s homes.
CBS’ NCIS: Los Angeles cast Claire Forlani (Starz’ Camelot) in a recurring role playing Lauren Hunter, the team’s new operations manager. The addition of Hunter to the storyline puts current operations manager, Hetty (Linda Hunt) and her position with the team in jeopardy. Forlani’s Lauren will be part of the current season’s cliff hanger and she joins the series on May 10.
